In addition if you already have an Amazon account with everything set up its pretty self explanatory anyway!

  • Does anyone have any knowledge on whether the 850 Pro would be any better for gaming or would there be a negligible difference in performance? Google seems to say there won't be much difference.

I don't have specific experience with SSDs but I think I can safely say different models aren't going to have a big impact on performance, maybe slight impacts on loading times.

I have 4 different brands / models and can't see any differences on i5 platforms 4th gen and 6th gen.

There are many other bottle necks in most PCs that you would need to upgrade before the SSD becomes the bottle neck, the bigger issue is the NAND types and durability from one brand to next, not speed.

      • Thanks for that!

  • Is there an option to use PayPal? I'm worried about getting foreign transaction fees with my debit card. Haven't really bought anything from Amazon before.

      It's times like these……you need 28 Degrees!

Worth noting that the 2TB (2,000GB) 850 EVO model is EUR 462.48 (AUD 714.46) after VAT is removed also.

That's AUD 0.3570/GB, which is pretty sexy and only AUD 0.02/GB more expensive than the 1TB model. Best I've seen it :)

  • Whats the warranty process for these? Back to france?

  • The sammy's a nice drive but too bad the write cycles arent up there as they use TLC instead of MLC (saved for the Pro's)

100gb write per day, 9 years of estimated endurance. I don't know how most people need to write over 100gb in one for normal uaage.

      • key word - estimated. Have yet to find someone who put the 1TB drive thru its paces. Its only guaranteed for 150TB writes, so anything beyond this you're on your own. The Transcend 370 is guaranteed for 1150TB writes (it uses MLC), quite a difference there. I have both products, just a little hesitant to use the samsung at the moment.

Less of an issue with 3D Nand, it uses a larger process.

  • Would running two of these in a Raid 0 config in an external 3.0 enclosure exceed the bandwidth of the usb 3.0? Would i have to consider thunderbolt connection?

    • When, why, how…?
