Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for $8.40 USD/$11 AUD (Price May Vary) for Owning Borderlands Titles

310

Valve recently allowed publishers to give discounts in the Steam store for bundles (something we should all be pretty excited about). I made a topic in the forums if anyone wants to discuss it. Valve is slowly rolling this feature out and it appears the Borderlands Triple Pack is one of them.

If you own BL1 and BL2 I think it's around $4.80 as specified in the title. (Nope. I don't think this is right at all. See the first comment.) Owning both of the previous titles and the DLC for the first game basically gives BL: TPS a discount of 88% off.

I can't confirm the exact price because I have regional pricing on so it's a different currency for me but here's a screenshot anyway.

Instructions

  1. Go to the Borderlands 2 Steam store page
  2. Scroll down until you see the Borderlands Triple Pack
  3. Click Add to Cart

Oh crap… Just remembered that Steam has special "unfair" regional pricing for Australians which means we pay extra for titles like this. I've been using advantageous regional pricing for a while so I kind of forgot how much we get screwed by certain publishers. Sorry. :S

Regardless, I believe this price is still cheaper than any of the other prices it's been. If someone can give me the actual price (preferably if you own all titles in the Triple Pack except BL: TPS) I'll update the title.

I picked up presequel back when cotd (with Visa promo) had steam keys at giveaway prices (they also had a lot of digital stock so it wasn't just for a few lucky people). With several other AAA titles and presequel it came to about $1. But this is still a great price for those who missed out back then!

Coming up as $8.40USD for me owning everything else in the triple pack

    • Thanks. I've updated the price.

    • +1

      Yep, same here.
Still a very nice price :) Thanks Eon-Rider!

thats awesome been wanting the pre-sequel for ages!!!

  • $11.40 for me but im missing 2 out of the 7 in the pack. Great idea for Valvue to start doing this

  • Not a bad price… but it's missing all the DLC content right? Think I might wait for another humble bundle with everything.

Got Pre-sequel on PS3 anyway ($10 clearance from Kmart)… and haven't played it still.

    • Yes, it's just the base game so there is no DLC. I personally prefer waiting for full game packages since I'm a bit of a completionist so I'm actually going to wait as well.

Didn't like this one, too much running around, not enough to do.

  • So the price varies depending if you own titles in the pack on Steam?

Im seeing (accessing from AU) for the Triple Pack
    Bundle discount: 50%
    $28.35 USD

    • +1

Yes. I don't really know what kind of options publishers are given but owning everything except BL: TPS seems to apply the bundle discount (-70%) on top of its sale discount (-60%) for effectively -88%. If you don't have anything, it seems to be just the bundle discount applied on top of the sum of all the items on their sale prices.

  • Wait a few more days for Aussie dollar to climb some more? :D

    • If I could predict the movement of the AUD, I'd be so rich I wouldn't need to wait for game sales ;)

  • all gone… tried to get a mate onto it and its back up to $28.35 USD

    • I had a look and it doesn't look like anything has changed. If they see $28.35 then either they don't own the titles or they're not logged in.

      • i tried searching on the website and its shows $28 as well?

        http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/257/

do you have a link to the $8 still?

        • Make you are logged in to the page. I saw 28 till I logged in when logged in I see $8.40 USD

EDIT: Replyed to the right person but the wrong comment. Adding so other can see it and benefit.

        • @Neverpayretail:

lol all good. Ill get my mate to try cheers. I can only view price when not logged in, i already got it for $8 yesterday. Its very strange if i go to taht link or via steam shows as $28…

either way i got my copy my mate can work it out now haha.

    • Still shows:

"6 of 7 items from this bundle are already in your library.
Buy this bundle to save 70% off the 1 items you don't yet have"

      $8.40

      • do you still get this? i only see $28 even on website?

        • I think you're looking at the game by itself and not the triple pack. The game comes up at US$27.99 as opposed to US$8.40 for the triple pack (I have all the other stuff in the triple pack).

        • @Mugsy: no looking at both must be a bug with the store i bought for $8 yesterday but my mate and i cant see ot for that anymore

        • @Evilanf: Make you are logged in to the page. I saw 28 till I logged in when logged in I see $8.40 USD

  • Thanks for sharing Eon-Rider! Been searching to get it <$10!

    Help me decide, please. :)

The triple pack for $11.40 USD (got 5 out of 7)

    Borderlands 2 GOTY $19.99 USD

Or neither, wait for promo from Humble Bundle/related?

    • Wait for GameAgent to have their Borderlands 2"complete" bundle deal again. I know the deal in that link is old but I have definitely seen GameAgent have that deal several times between then and now.

    • Triple pack for sure its an awesome deal. Borderlands 2 is massive alone. The DLCs are always on sale and i jus bought the main ones i wanted.

    • +1

I just bought boderlands 2 GOTY from here for $11.90, worked well

      • Interesting, did you get the Digital key or Steam Gift?

Despite the obvious, is there a downside to opting for a 'Steam Gift' as opposed to the Digital key options?

Also, I presume that you didn't opt for G2A Shield?

        • I hope you didn't end up getting this. Just posted a new deal. Tada!

        • @Eon-Rider:

Yeah haven't made my mind up, was reading up on G2A reviews/FAQs and all. Not so sure I'd be comfortable dealing with grey market codes, especially if more legit keys can be obtained for not much more.

Posted a question on your deal, hopefully you can clarify it for me.
