From Big W's latest catalogue, "Christmas Countdown", which starts tomorrow 12 December and ends 19 December. Big W is selling Sony PlayStation 3 40GB version for $598, which seems to be quite a bit cheaper than the others (ShopBot comparison).

  At that price it definitely gives Xbox 360 Pro pack a run for its money.

  Just be aware that the 40GB has less features, mainly it doesn't play PS2 games.

  "The 40 GB model has two USB ports instead of the four USB ports on other models, and does not include a multi memory card port, SACD support, or any backwards compatibility with PlayStation 2 titles."
