It is a good screen I had one running at 1080p @ 80hz so it is fairly perky with the 1ms GTG well worth it at this price

    • How do you have it running at 80Hz? It doesn't say anywhere on the specs page but PCPP lists it as 60Hz.

      • Yea it is 60hz but you can put a custom refresh rate through nvidia. I left mine at 80hz.

Apparently this screen runs 75hz at 720p

  • Had one for a couple of years before an 'all-in-one' upgrade, excellent unit .. :-) . !

I personally wouldn't buy any other monitor brand than Benq any more. Absolute bamg for buck and quality merch.

    • +1

Wow, you should take a look at some other brands then.

      • It's a fair call really. I've been eyeing off the new Asus and Acer lines but the quality control coming out of both of them is abysmal.

    • my last 3 montiors have been benq, love them

  • Good price, but it looks awful aesthetically, its just not a nice design to look at imo

How do you compare this with Samsung $189.95? Looks the same spec but different price.

    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-24-inch-LED-LCD-Gaming-Moni…

    • I would hardly call 5ms vs 1ms the same spec…

      • Without having used any of them myself, is it noticeable when playing games? I have Samsung 24inch FHD monitor and very happy with it for last 2 years. Never used BenQ. I usually consider other aspects such as brand warranty reviews in addition to spec and prices. question is 5ms vs 1ms a big deal over other aspects?

        • -1

Yes, if you are good at games, you notice the difference in response. For the average gamer, you wont.

        • Got two of these guys at home and at work. Never skipped a beat, looks great, and good picture quality. Amazing value. Once you see the benq in person, you will see the stand and frame is of MUCH higher quality, and vesa mount?

I call bullshit on anyone being able to notice a difference of 0.004 seconds.

  • A real shame that they don't deliver to parcel locker (p.o. box), otherwise I would have got one.

    • send to a mate's address and pick it up ?

    • Then use the Parcel Collect service instead if you're able at all to pickup any time during Australia Post business hours. Most of the Australia Post shops are open on Saturday too (well in the morning atleast and some are open all day on Suturday).

I have the 27" version of this monitor and specifically got it for my xbox one. It is a great monitor and is considered one of the best for console gaming.

    • Was thinking about this, must look great on the smaller screen yeah?

      • I have always played on monitors with consoles. Mostly because monitors tend to have low response time and low input lag, which is of-course good for gaming especially if you are into online multiplayer.

This monitor has one of the lowest input lag according to http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/

And yes it does look great.

    • Also have the 27" version. Awesome Monitor. Would easily get another two to replace my other monitors in my system if it ever came on sale.

      • I got it for $347 at jb hi-fi . With the quality of the monitor, I was fine with the price. I am looking at getting a 2nd one soon.

        • Yeah got mine for $350 also. That was about 12 months ago

      • It is on sale isn't it? $286?

  • I've had one for quite a while and it does a great job. I use the HDMI interface on it. Actually it has 2 x HDMI.

  • I picked this up from jb the other week for $198 (using a $50 coupon)

You'd only buy this if its mainly for -serious gaming-, the colours and ergonomics arent the best.
Ie, stand isnt height adjustable, only tilt. Also the headphone input is hard to get to as its behind the monitor right up under where the other inputs are.

It's pretty bfyb as a low response monitor. Made me realise PS4 SF5 stages lag, when I thought it was my previous monitor.

The Benq-XL2411Z also has a 20% sale on the ebay store, coming down to $366.40. Just bought one for myself.

  • this monitor is great for console gaming. If you are looking to get it for PC gaming, there are better monitors out there more suitable for PC gaming.

  • Does this model have blue light filter?

I'm not sure if it's a solely a marketing feature or something legitimate, but blue light filters seem like the feature to have to prevent eye strain.
It's awesome to get a great monitor at a bargain price, but if it lacks a feature which can save screwing up your eyes for life, then I might pay extra for another monitor with blue light filter.

  • This is a 2013 model, I wouldn't pay that price for it.

The ebay description is also wrong, the provided specs show it is a TN panel. TN panels are cheaper but have a faster response, hence the 1 MS, this is desirable for gaming. Trade-off is reduced colour reproduction, contrast ratio and viewing angles, also some colour bleeding.

If you want a 1ms monitor, the only other option is the ASUS VN247H-P which is about the same price point/ feature wise.

The BenQ RL-2455HM though was the official monitor of choice (aka sponsor) for MLG 2013 (Major League Gaming). And yeah MLG is kinda dead, they went out of business last year and AcitivisionBlizzard bought their assets.

  • has this arrived for anyone yet?
