Nexus 6P 32GB $700.17 @ FreeShippingTech

460

Thanks to this deal, I found the Nexus 6P and it seems to be a decent price for local stock. Last mobileciti deal in Feb 2016 was $706.50. 2 years manufacturers' warranty and free shipping.

Edit: Thanks to the poster below, it appears the store's listing is misleading and this is grey stock

Good find OP- Im still looking for a deal on the 64GB model.

Good phone but they still haven't fixed the frikkin Bluetooth issues. I still can't get sound from my phone speakers often after disconnecting from my car's BT. Also if I run audio and GPS over BT to my head unit every time the GPS updates anything on the screen the music stutters and then plays faster until it catches up.
Happens with both my Holden and Ford head units so I don't think it's just me. In fact I know it isn't, plenty of complaints over the net regarding very similar issues with BT handoffs.

      • I couldn't connect to my boomsound speakers using Bluetooth or NFC. I thought it was just me haha.

Also need to go through the warranty process because the touch screen is stuffed.

      • All my Android phones have troubles with BT…… SONY, LG, MOTO and a NEXUS…….. bigger or small. Tips: after disconnecting, turn off your BT on your phone and turn back on, maybe fix your problem…

My Samsung's have never had these issues or any like them. Note 3 was a hell of a phone.

      • Recently bought the phone from Virgin for 744/- upgrading from Nexus , which served me well ( Came with a pair of headphones, and flimsy cover/case as well). No Bluetooth issues for me. Connects well with my Bluetooth Sony headphones- and pairing is a breeze- just touch with NFC enabled, and easy to transfer files using android beam and NFC. (NFC device should be close to the glass panel by the camera.).

What you are describing sounds like an issue with the Bluetooth Antenna in the phone…. I know because I had a Nokia N900 and then a HTC One X with the same issue. When the phone was really close to the head unit it was okay. When it was far away it didn't work properly.

I think there must be something in the BT protocol that "speeds up" the lost data when the reciever detects that it has lost some music data (or something, I'm not really sure).

      • I have the 64GB version and no issues with Bluetooth connection to my car.

        • Not as though onboard memory has anything to do with it but mine too is a 64gb AU version. I guess you're just getting lucky that it had no problem with your vehicle's BT. Both of my cars are this year's models so not sure of its to do with newer BT receivers?

        • @Where's_That_Cake: mine also works fine with BT, but i have the annoying issue (even on my nexus 5) with the media play button on my car, when pressed won't launch google music (it might do it 1 in 50 times). It's very random and annoying. I'm not sure what happened but after an update on my nexus 5 a while back it just stopped working properly. Any one else have this?

    • Kogan has grey import Nexus 6P 64gb for $752 after Ctechie promo code. I've almost pulled the trigger, but might wait until I see this years new models

Apparently HTC will be releasing the Google Nexus phones for the next 3 years.

        • I heard that as well, and while HTC have made great phones in the past- their track record is not been the greatest for a while.
Hopefully they pick up- Id like to see good competetion in the flagships

      • Same here. Too many issues with the Snapdragon 810 to even consider this. And rumors are pointing to 2 HTC Nexus this year, in 5 and 5.5 inches (which I think is better sized than the 5.7 inch 6p).

        • Apparently the latest update fixes a lot of these issues: https://plus.google.com/+FranciscoFranco1990/posts/dXBtugbiy…
Don't have the phone so can't confirm, but franco knows his stuff.

@NigelTufnel: Look at his last comments on that G+ post. LOL!!!

        • I've had the Nexus 6p since before launch date, and I haven't experienced any performance issues. Same goes for all the review sites out there. It's one of the rare phones that works well with 810.

        • @NigelTufnel: Mine is up to date and nothing has changed. All the stuff that this phone has issues with worked fine on my Note 3 and with wife's Xperia Z2.

        • No issues with the Snapdragon 810. Do not judge the SoC in here in accordance with the Snapdragon 810. The Snapdragon 810 was not up to Google's high standards, and Qualcomm provided a third production version, the 'v2.2' if you will. The heat issues are basically non existent, and performance is AMAZING.

Take it from someone who is in love with their Nexus 6P :)

        • The heat issue is very existent on my 6p. Quite disappointed with this phone. The games I run stutter every time without exception.

        • @jatcave: what games? I'd like to do a comparison here. ID say mine gets warm, not hot.

        • @sirob1: NFS and Subway Surfers. And yes, it gets warm, not so hot that it's untouchable. Some flagship model…

FYI - JB Hi-Fi has the Nexus 5X 32GB for $547 right now.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/Outright-Mobile-Handsets/lg…

  • How does warranty returns work?
Straight to Google, or post back to this place?

Can also get the Nexus 5X at JB Hifi for $547 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/Outright-Mobile-Handsets/lg…

    • Goes back to the store or deal with huawei directly.

      • Can you go to huawei directly for gray imports?

    • You only go straight back to Google if you purchase directly from them.

  • On the product page it says "Product ships from outside Australia", I assume will be no GST and no manufacturer's warranty from HuaWei.
Is this correct, one of my friend is really looking for a Nexus 6P but she wants reliable warranty.

Just rang them, 2 years warranty from FreeShippingTech not Manufacturers' Warranty, you need to post phone to their warehouse in NZ to repair.

    • Thanks. Updated post.

Nexus 6p 32Gb is AU $828.23 on Kogan Ebay. Then by using the CTECHIE 20% code it takes it down to $662.59.

It seems a good price but I see people mentioning its a grey import.

  • Dang, too late. Flying overseas tonight :(.

  • Qantas store have a deal with Vodafone these days.
121000 points (if Birthday in March, 10% off)

Given a JB Hifi Voucher is around 40000 points for $250 it equates to about 750 dollars. Thats for the 32Gb model 6P though

  • hhhnhnnnngggggggg I want this…. must resist…

  • I don't understand when people say 2 year local manufacturer warranty from Huawei. Because their warranty policy on their website only declares 12 month warranty for phones.
    REF: http://consumer.huawei.com/au/support/warranty-policy/index.…

    • broadly understood that under the compulsory consumer guarantees provided under the Australian Consumer Law, high-end smartphones are expected to have a warranty of at least two years (reflecting their expected lifespan).

Huawei are being cheeky with their website but we couldn't expect anything less from such a manufacturer IMO.

  • Will i be able to claim TRS on this?

    TIA

    • If it is shipped from abroad, then generally no, as there is no GST component. ( someone who has bought it can confirm).
I have bought from Virgin Mobiles for AUD 744/- and flying next month, so would be getting AUD 67.64 refund, making it cheaper. And just walked in and out with the phone in five min. Uses nano sim, so make sure you sim swap.

      • thanks, wasn't sure if it was Aussie stock or not. Is it locked at Virgin?

*just googled, it's unlocked. I think i'll just go with Virgin thanks!

  • I bought a 2 month old 64gb off someone for $700 and it's probably the best phone I've ever used. A pure Android experience - exactly what I wanted. 1440P screen is beautiful - I don't think I could ever step back down to anything lower than that. Haven't had any issues so far either.
