  • Watched a scary PBS doco Supplements & Safety:

    1. Recently, several studies used DNA testing to try to see if supplements actually contained what was listed on the bottle. The results were alarming, with one study conducted by the New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman’s office finding that 79% of supplements failed their DNA test. In response to these types of studies, Frontline says GNC and Nature’s Way have begun DNA testing ingredients as a way to verify the contents of the bottle.

    • sounds interesting, there's a link on that website which has the video, so I'll watch that later. when was this on sbs? and what time roughly? like was it on a show or ?

also, does this type of documentary also reflect on vitamins that are sold in Australia? e.g. Berocca?

    • I believe that the supplement industry in US is a bit of a free for all while Australia is far more rigorous.

There was a spreadsheet I saw years ago where some brands of protein powder actually had up like 50% protein than what was written on the label.

I don't know if anything has changed since then but I wouldn't let the media scare you off supplements or think they don't have a use.

  • A few BOGO 50% off their own brand of stuff as well as free shipping for >$25 of vitacost items I think.

Anyone know if we can use the $10 off referee code on top of the BOGO50% off items too?

    • +1

yes. The referral code also stacks with the $10 RMN751 code
