Why would you use this and not apply a red filter in post-production?
I guess consumers that don't have access to or are afraid of post
edit: the description says the auto-white balance and cc in the gopro causes problems underwater. fixable in post but somewhat complicated for a newbie
The filter allows a broader light spectrum to reach the camera sensor for more vibrantly colored footage.
Some times you can't fix it in post if the video codec doesn't contain enough image data to adjust later.
