Well, might as well get your kids the real thing, save money in the process ;)

This powerful hedgetrimmer boasts dual action diamond blades that cut through branches faster

    and power cords

i effortlessly sliced through an extension lead hanging over a hedge :(

Good work in slashing your electricity bill.

  • Great prices. Bought these just after Xmas when they were 1/2 price with extra 10% off with gift card. Haven't used the hedge trimmer yet. The blower vac does a reasonable job. It's not great at vacuuming but the blower seems to work quite well.

For the price I think they're a steal.

  • If you can stretch to $85-95 I've found the cordless ones to be excellent. Might be another deal coming up soon?

Not having the hassle of the power cable when you're cruising around the garden is honestly the best.

How long does the battery last between charges? I haven't worked up the courage to get cordless power tools for the garden yet…

      • +1

I agree. I see the cordless ones and think "well, maybe if I had a tiny little courtyard and couldn't legitimately use it for more than 3 minutes anyway" … but I have a larger block with visions of me being halfway through the job and needing to come back to finish it the next day after an overnight charge.

at the moment i've got 50m of murraya paniculata hedges and 20m of gardenia hedges and it's constantly expanding as i plant more shrubs. i use a 18v lion hedge trimmer.

        • @mtg: Thank you for your reply - very helpful.

        • @mtg: How is 909? I've seen mixed reviews about their gear.

        • @fantafox:
it's ok. i'm sure there is better stuff out there. i got it because it was heavily discounted (~$60-70 iirc).

the bottom line is li-ion hedge trimmers last for more than 3 minutes.

      • I've got a pretty decent sized front yard and back yard. Have used the hedge trimmer non-stop for at least 40 minutes. The blower lasts at least 30 minutes without stopping. But to be honest if you're blowing an average sized yard for anything longer than 15 minutes then you're doing it wrong. Plus, if you get the trimmer and blower they each come with a battery and charger so you get two batteries. That enough battery power to do your neighbour's yard as well.

  • bought Makita DUB183Z 18 V Li-Ion Blower couple months ago with $100,
considering sell it $90 to get this black and decker.

if I found this deal, wouldn't buy the makita one.

  • Picked up a hedge trimmer at Southland. Labeled for clearance at 50 but scans at 30. Still a few left.

  • This question is obviously silly, if anyone care to explain humbly that would be much appreciated.
But how was this yank's brand compared to japs ryobi especially the battery? Should we use extension cord which is extremely inconvenient?

  • so is this a wired one?

    • Yes. You will need an extension cord to use it.

        thanks mate..

  • I just bought the hedge trimmer from the Canberra City Big W.
It was ticketed at $50 but scanned at $30.
I think there were 4 left.

  • Just grabbed the blower/vac from my local BigW. Thanks OP!

Already had an almost identical (slightly different model) hedge trimmer from a Catch of The Day deal a few months back. Used it maybe half a dozen times. Goes a treat!

    Coolhead, yes it's wired.

  • Thanks!

Just got Masters to price beat the hedge trimmer. $27. If I had a 10% off docket it would have come down to $24.30

    • +1

That's awesome, does Masters always price beat? Or is it hit or miss?

      • +1

They are pretty good with price beats from my experience. The girl at the counter still called her manager to confirm she could do it (because it was such a big price difference from their $89 price). I find their price beat policy to be as less restrictive as other retailers

  • Picked up the Blower/Vacuum will report back. Bought one for my brothers birthday too. Great reviews. Wonder how the power compares to a cordless…

  • 420W is enough for a hedge trimmer.

    Agreed? Good!

Now why the hell are you insisting on a 2000W blender exactly? (You know who you are :P

  • Got the trimmer from my local bigw never thought to get masters to price match as thats even closer.
But not sure if even worth the hassle over $3.
It cost me more on that to return and get it from masters.

  • My Brisbane Masters priced matched, they just requested a print out of the bigw page showing the price for the record keeping.

  • The circular saw is also $30 marked down from 59

    14.4v drill $60 marked down from 129

  • Works great for a blower. Does Masters stock the same blower/vac? Might get another one for the parents.

  • How is the vacuum and mulching performance on these?

I got a ROKI from Masters and it was a toy so returned immediately.

Is this one as good/better than the Ozito for $59

    Cheers,

    BB

  • Now a further 50% cheaper at $15 each thanks to scotty
