review doesn't look too promising :(

Agree… I'm sure I haven't heard great things about this brand… Not sure if it's worth the test because Masters won't be around for long too…

    • Was just reading reviews as well - not the best

Have personally used 2 different machines from their range and both failed quite often, with the smaller one finally snuffing it and was more useful as a spot to tie a tent rope.
Glad they were not mine and I was sharing them on camping trips.

1000w is not that much it could be limiting…

I'd prefer one that can output at least 2200-2400w - that way you could use a toaster or kettle if you needed…

Anyone used this? How is it in terms of noise, performance? How does it compare to the Honda EU2000i (which is about 4 times the price)…

I have used the Honda, but can't justify buying one myself for a small use per year it would get…

I have the red version of the 2kva TPE generator which I think retails/retailed for around $899, I too had previously used the Honda and honestly this is extremely comparable, albeit has a slightly smaller fuel tank I believe.
I'm a tradie and frequently have used it over past 3 years with hammer drills, vacuums, coring drills etc, it has never skipped a beat and always receives positive comments on how quiet it is.

Edit: Having found it on Masters eBay, I'm almost tempted to grab another as a spare given they are on sale!

What's the difference between the red and black versions of the TPE 2kva ones??

        Sizeable price difference between them!
Edit: seems slightly more powerful and slightly louder?

        • The red one is much more efficient. It claims 13 hours from a 3.5l tank (at 25% of capacity), the black one claims only 8 hours from a 3.7l tank (also at 25% of capacity).

      • Would 2kva be able to handle a fridge?
Would like one for black outs

Read numerous articles where it says they generally need 1600w to start and 200w running.
Didn't want to take the leap in case I misread / misunderstood articles.

Just went to North Lakes masters only to find none of the clearance generators marked with discounted prices. Told staff and they told me they weren't aware of any clearances with generators. Brought up link on my phone and showed them. They then said they would match it. Matching your own prices…. wow. How awesome… No wonder why masters is going down the toilet…

maybe it hadnt gone live to them yet

then again it is north lakes
the whole area reeks of over developed congested sardine canned houses
