    Not a bargain. Plus why on earth wouldn't you just use 3G, MUCH cheaper than 25cents.

It can actually be useful when traveling, I used it during a trip to South America recently. When using global roaming 3G is expensive but an SMS is cheap and easy. It was a great way to update twitter & facebook to let my friends and family know where I was during my travels when internet access is not always available.

But I do agree its not really a bargain, probably more suited to the forums.

  I considered this when I was in Japan. But international text is still expensive (75c for me), I survived off free wifi and the rare text home.
