  • I've got these. Very very bright. Seems very high quality. I'd buy more, but it's tight fight in my light fitting.

  • Thanks for the feedback, and yes, for a retrofit lamp they are quite bright. The diameter of the luminare is 50mm, which fits into any standard halogen gimbal fitting or fascia. It may be a little tight across certain fittings but that's simply to ensure it doesn't become dislodged when adjusting the gimbal angle.

    • Hi Rep, do we have DR700 MR16 for sale? Thanks.

      • Hi Customer, no we don't at the moment sorry. It may not be ideal, but if you're after a high performing downlight that can slot into your existing fixtures, I'd also consider the D700+ (without fascia). You'll have to remove any existing transformers, but the product comes with it's own external driver and will work flawlessly with your existing system.

      • maybe not quite as good but i use the nichia MR16 retrofit (iron core tranformer) and are quite bright, not as bright as my 50w GE halogens but close.
        http://www.ledworkshop.com.au/nichia-mr16-8w-dimmable-led

        • That's a decent product relative to other small MR16's on the market. But you're right it's not going to be as bright as a new 50W halogen eg. 700 lumens.

  • How much cheaper can this go?

    • Considering our stock levels, I doubt the price will be reduced any further.

  • I added these to the cart but it lists shipping as $22?

    • Our mistake, the free shipping and handling is available for orders over $300.

      • Yikes! Okay no worries.

        • We realise it's not the usual free shipping, but we're a manufacturer and do not normally deal in lower volumes so we simply need to cover the cost of the hand picking and freight at our warehouse. We think the discounted price is a bargain and the rest is more than reasonable. If you order a certain volume than we're more than happy to ship it for free.

        • @Brightgreen: Ahh pity, shipping for even just 2 bulbs is $22, which makes each bulb $30 instead of $19. :(

      •••• ••

  • Hmm decision decision.

Already got some LED bulb sitting in the cupboard collecting dust from last time and their performance is not as good. I wonder if this is really the one :(

    — alright I bite, bought 6 hope it's definately good replacement for the halogen —

  • Are they only in black? Or does the edge get completely concealed?

Edit - Never mind I need mr16 fitting

  • neutral white = warm white ?

Edit : Natural white is whiter than warm white . http://www.usa.philips.com/c-m-li/led-lights/warm-led-light

    • Neutral white is simply an industry term most commonly associated with 4000 Kelvin colour temperature. These are 4000K. If you're after 3000K (warm white), then I'd recommend looking at the D900 Classic on our clearance page, or looking at our other fittings and purchasing through one of our distributors - www.brightgreen.com

  • Do you have D550?

  • +1

do you have these in warm white? not a big fan of cool white as it reminds me of hospital lighting.

    • Sorry we don't have the warm white available in this sale. We do have some other warm white products available on our clearance page. Alternatively, you can purchase the warm white (3000K) version of this product or any other one you'd prefer from one of our retailers or wholesalers.

  • does it need a transformer? is it comes with a housing if i want to put as a new installation? 70mm or 90mm?

    • There's an electronic driver inside, but the fitting is 240V so you simply plug the light into a GU10 holder in the back and that is connected directly to your power supply.

      • so it needs a housing, it cant be installed as new fitting right? only to replace the existing GU10 lights. some of my led downlights are not working but i dont think i can just replace the light and keep the housing. they are 70mm cut.

        • Yep it needs a housing, as it's a retrofit. However, we actually have 70mm fascias in stock (white and silver). How many are you after?

    • If you need a housing, you are better off getting a kit ie. includes driver, housing and LED. Suggest getting 90mm size.

If you want one that is dimmable as well with a push button dimmer and not the old fashion rotary dimmer, I can recommend one that works.

      • You can simply purchase a retrofit product with the housing separate, no need to purchase a whole kit if you've already got the GU10 holders in place.

        • The OP is doing s new install?

  • What are the dimensions of the fitting? Will it fit into a lamp or light fitting which holds standard GU10 halogen lamps?

  • OK. I misread the heading. It's a downlight not a lightbulb. Do you have any GU10 bulbs on sale that would replace something like this: https://www.masters.com.au/product/902370781/philips-50w-60d…?

    • It's the same thing, the product you linked is just the old halogen version. The DR700 GU10 is designed as a direct replacement for a halogen downlight like that. One thing to check is the height of the fixture your putting the product into because the DR700 is approximately 89mm in length.

  • Hi Brightgreen, how long does the shipping take? I just made an order for some DR900+ and need it urgently so it can be installed before the house gets painted next week.

    Thanks

  • So this is basically a long GU10 bulb? If the website had a picture of the connector part it would be more clear…

  • Great lights. I installed about 70 of them downstairs from your last sale and have been very happy with them. I used the D700 NF for upstairs and have been happy with them as well.
