(Top Class Consultant to Service You!)

    Sounds painful.

  • +1

    What's the bargain?

  • The bargain is 50% discount of normal price usual $100 per hour. Taking into consideration that the team services mainly corporate customers at those rates and now offering half price for the residential.

    • Sounds like more trouble than its worth. Good luck.
Looking after residential customers for half the cost of Corporate.

I usually pay a lot more for someone to service me.

  • +1

$100/hr for your average mum n dad who don't know how to get rid of a virus… Wow

    • The bargain is you just pay for $50 per hour… not $100. :)

      • +4

Here in this country we pay GST… please dont refer to amounts without it.

        • -1

True, as corporate do not care abt GST as GST is claimable… :)

        • @petertan:

          as GST is claimable…

          Not always…

        • @petertan: Do you realise advertising a price without GST is illegal?

        • @Major Mess:

Do you realise advertising a price without GST is illegal?

Not if your clients are businesses…

        • @jv: Yes, but this deal is not only aimed at business. I was going to say a I guess a post here is not advertising…but it is.

        • @Major Mess:

Yes, but this deal is not only aimed at business.

I didn't say that it was, I just posted a fact.

    • +1

To be fair, $100/hr isn't the worst rate in the world, when I was working IT a year or so ago we were charging $125/h casual rate, albeit with a little bit of room to move for certain clients.

      • +1

^ When you start working with IT MSPs the costs are almost always $100+.

  • I believe getting rid of virus can be done by most people, just install Avast, or AVG will do the trick…haha.. no need to call for services…

    • depends which virus…. if it comes u
as part of boot process easier to take our hard drive and clean it on its own as non bootable of bother machine.

such as Accenture, Hewlett Packard to name a few.

    Ha ha…

Since when do Accenture service computers?

    • Nah, they don't. The team used to work for Accenture.

      • +3

        Why did they leave?

      • In that case, what does that have to do with anything? Working for HP is certainly not a recommendation.

I would say the whole service would be pretty ordinary. The cheap $100 rate also indicates the same.

        • what does that have to do with anything?

They don't train you to service computers and you certainly wouldn't be doing that at clients… So it's not really a qualification for this gig….

  • +1

$100/hr for a good IT person is under market rate - $50/hr is a great bargain if the team is knowledgeable and works well with people

    • +2

$100/hr for a good IT person is under market rate

Most charge about $80-$100 per hour, less experienced ones charge around $50-$60.

If you're paying more than that, you're not shopping around…

      • It depends where you are. You can't charge that where I am.

        • And yet so many do statewide ;)

    • I charge more than that for my it services $135…… $50 for non business customer is not unreasonable have a look at what msy charge for builds or cleans.

all depends on the users skill level …… some people can change their own tap washers, some people can't .

ticker is $50 door to door, on site time, or based on drop, off and charged by time to fix.

A professional IT company that uses a Wordpress based website?

I believe that a website speaks for the experience and level of IT skills, especially when it is your business.

    • +6

A lot of big IT and software companies use Wordpress. A lot of corporations do too. It can be very easy to manage and very powerful if done right.

      • +3

The website looks like it was whipped up in an afternoon.

        Feel free to believe you are saving 50% @ $50 p/h ex-GST.

No office based address, operating since 25/10/2015 in VIC, previously in Sydney since 26/08/2014 and only a Mobile contact number…seems totally legit and corporate.

        • +4

I'm not defending them nor am I saying they're any good. I'm pointing out the fact that Wordpress itself is commonly used and not a bad thing.

  • +4

…so much criticism. I own a managed services company and we deal with small- mid sized businesses. We charge $132/ hour for contract holders and $154 for non contract holders regardless of the work we do. We're not expensive especially if you got experience and deal with servers and complicated setups.

And yes, you always deal with ex GST as business customers will claim and therefore only really pay that amount.

$50 is cheap - just depends how good they are.

  • +3

Smells like an advert to me, nothing really outstanding except maybe they claim it is normally $100 plus gst what proof is there?

    nah advert it is

  • Main phone number is a mobile…

Have a look at their list of "computer services" … your average 14yo could walk you through most of it.

$100 an hour … tell him he's dreaming.

  • +2

Christ… people used to hit the roof when I charged $20 an hour!!!

If you have a virus and you do not know how to get rid of it ill do it for a slab of beer lol

(Not advertising, this is just a joke)

  • Does your website work in Safari?

    • Yes

      • Did you really use https://wordpress.org to host this website….

        • -1

Wordpress software which is available for free from wordpress.org and it is used by many organisation. Most web hosting companies provide free installation, including Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. It is easy to use and managed.

        • lots of people use freeware to host their websites….. lots of people use Linux to host their web servers. don't actually know anyone outside of corporate who hosts a server with Windows or uses software that costs money .

cheap hosting ….. I took up the go daddy $12 for 12 months that they had….. for that price I can't pay for the electricity to host a mail server at home and Microsoft are $5 per month to host a domain for mail.

  • i wonder if they could help me - I have a laptop that is locked by bitlocker after a technician changed my motherboard - the laptop was from the dell outlet - so obviously the previous owner had activated it..
I would pay 50 bucks for them to fix this mess…

    • +1

Did you look at this link :
      http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows-vista/regain-acce…

You can give them a call or email them to check your enquiry.

      • thanks for the link - if only it were that simple.
I dont have the password as I never set up the bitlocker - I pressume on the original owner of the laptop has the password - and i cant imagine how I am going to get it off them (asuming they still have it)

        • If you've don't have the password or recovery key, then there is no way for you to access the data protected by BitLocker. However, you could format the HDD and re-install the OS.

        • -1

@petertan: i dont have the reovery key - only the recovery key ID :(

        • Unfortunately, if you can’t find your key, and no other administrator on the PC can find a backup copy either, you’ll need to restore the PC to factory default settings.

        • @dr_ rusko: Feel free to check the details and options with them.

        • +1

@petertan: thanks for the advice :P

        • @dr_ rusko: You are welcome. :)

        • +1

@petertan: how about that.. I got through!

I had activated my microsoft account on that laptop (its a 2 in 1 with tablet) - I was able to login to my microsoft account and it generated a key for me!!
(even though I was not the one to activate it in the 1st place)
          hurrah!

suffice to say - the 1st thing i did was deactivate bitlocker!!

        • +4

@dr_ rusko: Now pay them the $50 you promised:P

        • +1

          @CandyMan: Yeah like that's gonna happen…
          This is OzBargain, not OzIntegrity

    • if dell are like hp dell can unlock it if they used the std settings on the old bios, will cost more than $50 and request is done in writing they probably check to see if it's stolen. or owned by a corporate and you need to see your IT guy… otherwise wipe the drive and start again.

  • That exchange between members from Victoria registered sixty days apart warms my heart.

    • glad to provide entertainment for you :P

I'm a happy man - I feel like I have defeated microsoft! (not really but dont ruin my moment!)

  • If you have a technical problem search youtube first. There's videos about almost every problem nowadays. Could save you heaps.

  • +2

I don't think that rate is too bad… My plumber charges me $80/hour and so does my electrician…

    • +1

And call out. Don't go there please, tradies are the biggest rip off scumbags but there you go, it pays to drop out in year 10 and go TAFE after all, could have saved myself years of extra boring study if someone with half a brain told me that 25 years ago. Yes I'm bitter.
