  • Is this game dead yet or are people still playing it, I could see the gameplay getting stale REAL fast, titanfall levels.

    • not many people at all playing it on PC. I think numbers are on par with BF4

EDIT: Lol, just checked across all platforms BF4 averages 2-3 times the number of peak concurrent players.

    Dead on PC.

    • -6

Bullshit. Game is still thriving surprisingly.

      • +6

you should probably check the states before calling bs.

        BF4 (released 2013) = 32,000 peak concurrent players in the last 24h

Battlefront (released 2 months ago) = 9,600 peak concurrent players in the last 24h

Pretty safe to say it's dead mate. I wouldn't even call BF4 a thriving player base.

Let's see some stats from games that are actually thriving.

CSGO = 606,000 peak concurrent players in the last 24h

        BLOPS3 for comparison

Black Ops 3 = 19,193 peak concurrent players in the last 24h

        • Yeah, haven't really read a review, but the bits I have picked up is apart from the limited maps, it's basically all dumbed down compared to BF.

        • @Major Mess: I play it most days it is not dead at all! Just got off a session now!

        • +1

          Source? Curious

        • @Spackbace: I used steam stats, bf4stats.com, swbstats.com

        • So it shows me 9,600 players were on at one time in the last 24 hours. You basically proved it's not dead while trying to prove it is.

        • It's a strange economy the gaming world. If the price were at a point that it probably is worth, say $30, then they may make that 30,000 people online figure (for a $900,000 sale value). At $60, even if they managed to attract 10,0000 players, then that only equates to $600,000. Active communities is what drives success after all.

          nope pretty sure it's dead.

        • @cathole:

yeah dead, they have about 10-20 in game modes and only 5 of them have players.

most people play the tie fighters to level up.

        • +1

@Dagmar: The point about 9,600 players globally is that if the auto matchmaking manages to find a game at all it's likely to be international so you are also dealing with high latency gameplay, degrading the experience.

I had trouble finding matches (apart from conquest, or whatever it's called) in the first week of launch where the PC player base was supposedly ~35k. In ~60 days the player base has drastically reduced. Buying the game now, with this rate of drop would be foolish placement of money as in another month the player base is going to be non existent save for the die hard level 10,000 players. The game is dead, the 9,600 players just means the body is still warm.

Also, at $59 this game represents poor content for money.

          @CyberGenesys:

I'm not pro-Battlefront. I despise the game. I just don't like it when people comment "Dead on PC" and receive positive votes when the game is clearly not dead. I launched it a few days ago and got into an Aussie 20v20 match within 10 seconds. And that was Tuesday 11pm, the day before most of Australia heads back to school.

Agree NOT dead i play regularly. Yes it has less players than silly CSGO etc Star Wars is niche but i am always in games full of players!!

        • I find it hard to imagine there are more than a handful of full servers seeing as there are currently ~2500 players online GLOBALLY.

        • @cathole: how many people can you play against at once?

  • +6

I play on pc and can rarely find a game online

    • +2

Thats because the server match making is rubbish. EA fked it.. threads with endless complaints on EA forums. It should have a server browser. Instead Add ppl to your friends list then u connect to their games.

    • +1

I had the exact same issue. Bought the game day one for pc and could barely find any games online. Such a shame cause i did enjoy it but gave up and uninstalled it because 75% of the time i could never find any games to join.

    • Downloaded a patch this week and since then I've been able to get games

      • I think that was a coincidence. I was hopeful too, but the patch just nerfed a few of the weapons and changed some xp points. Didnt do much.
Im on now. Found 2 games in about 15 attempts, which actually shocked me! Nice to get something.

        • +1

add me to your friends if you want 'sydrooster' then you can add other people in the AUS/Kiwi group and get games much easier. I get games every day this way. EA are such knobs not including a server browser which would of solved all these issues.

      • +3

Probably just people checking out the patch.

    • Agree. Enjoying this game more than Black ops 3 but harder to get a game. Have never been able to play some of the multiplayer variations.
Spent ages finding a game recently and when it finally matched me to a server, there was a hacker with an aimbot and other cheats that was just massacring everyone. Exited that server and then couldnt get on another game.

  • Will do. Will try and get on during the weekend. I think im colbster102 which is actually my sons account

  • whens just casue 3 drop in price (for pc)

  • reminds me of titan fall, good game but not enough players.

  • Even COD 4 on PC has more people playing atm…
