910

Watching the Australian Open (well replays of yesterday's matches) and this Macca's ad came on. Starts now but I'm not sure when it ends.

A Big Mac is reported to cost around $5-$5.50. You can upgrade to a medium chips & drink for $1 extra or large chips & drink for $2.

Also available: Free Small Fries & Coke with 6 Pack of Nuggets Purchase which is part of this same promotion.

In before people complaining about the health risk etc

    • +3

Rather live happily for 60 years than 65 unsatisfied ones. (Yes still talking about fast food)

      • +2

well, not really, with current state of health care in Australia, you'll be guaranteed to live over 65 nevertheless, but whether you spend your last 10 year whinging or grinning is another story.

        • Mate, come back and let me know in 20 years… Direction ain't gonna change in a hurry, and we (also the developed world) is not heading upwards…

  • Nationwide?

      • Let the negs roll in…

  • -8

    link to deal?

how do we redeem the offer?

    • +9

      When you buy it.

      • +4

Don't forget, you have to chant JV's name three times

      • Do you need to ask for the free stuff or do they just give it to you?

        • Logically you'll have to order it, and they don't charge you extra.

  • +4

I saw an ad for buy 6 nuggets and get a free small fries and a free small coke.

    • +22

What a time to be alive.

  • I can confirm both the nugget deal and Big Mac deal are valid in Melb

    • Is this a yearlong deal, or just temporary?

      • Didn't read the fine print, but similar deals in the past have been for a limited time only.

Give the taxpayers a break by just asking for water with your Big Mac.

    • -2

Why would you tell people to ask for water? If you're concerned about the sugar content, surely it would make more sense to ask for one of the sugar-free options?

      • -7

Water is sugar free and no artificial sweeteners.

        The ignorance is strong.

        • +2

Water has been free when I've visited - in terms of value for money, you're getting more for your money if you go for Coke Zero or one of the other sugar-free soft drinks.

Big Mac + soft drink + fries > Big Mac + water + fries

To be fair, the water content in a soft drink is a lot lower, though, so the inequality above might not apply for someone who is suffering from dehydration.

What do taxpayers have got to do with this? It's not like the McDonald's is being subsidised by the government…

      • +2

        But our healthcare is!

        • Fun fact, businesses generate taxable revenue. So in a sense the government is partially subsidized by McDumps.

  • what the rough cost of big mac these days

    • Around $5.

      • A bargain! (Calories/$)

  • +4

You can swap the small fries for the salad. The salad is probably better value and a good healthier option.

    • Have you tried this? Hope don't charge extra because "the offer is only valid for fries"

      • +2

I did try it. At the bottom of the ad, it has the salad option noted.

  • Has someone tried this in NSW as yet?

  • +1

Hmm, this deal or the HJ + app and KFC vouchers option for lunch? Someone help me out here!

    • Ask your magic 8-ball?

    • +1

      Why not all three?

  • +3

Can confirm working at Pitt St Mall Maccas in Sydney CBD
    $5.35 for Big Mac meal
    $5.75 for 6 Nuggets meal

    • 6 nuggest for $5.75. Kidding me man.

  • +1

I wonder if it's also on the self serve machines

  • +1

So how much do you actually save

  • You can upgrade:

Medium chips and Drink for $1

    or

Large chips and Drink for $2

Plus the cost of the Big Mac or 6 Nuggets :D

  • +1

Confirmed worked in VIC. My local maccas is advertising the promo on their boards in the drive thru.

  • Confirmed at Melville store in WA.

  • Just saw an ad on TV for it. Should be nationwide now.

  • Can confirm this deal is active in Myer Centre, Adelaide

  • saw this today at maccas five dock when i was filling up petrol. they had a big sign out front

  • Not available at 3rd Ave McDonalds Blacktown.

  • Would point out that you can substitute the items such as fries for salad but also the coke for a bottle of water.

If you are willing to pay a a couple of dollars extra you can upgrade the fries or drink options such as it was an additional $1.95 to ugrade the small fries to loaded fries.

  • Apparently you need to clearly ask for these (at certain stores, watch the screen to see if they add it.

Also, upgrade to medium Coke/fries for $1, large for $2.

    • Or swap the fries for garden salad for free. Then swap the coke for a large iced chocolate for 2.40.

The garden salad is actually pretty big, better than the tiny pack of fries. Iced chocolate is pretty good, there is also big range of drinks, frappes etc for 3 bucks max for a large. (Ranges for about a dollar extra to 3 depending on size) Reckon it's better value than the typical soft drink.

Best to use the self serve machine and play around.

  • $5.85 but going up to $6.25 Wintergarden Brisbane.

  • So if you ask for a small Big Mac meal do they automatically give it to you for the price of the butger only? Or do they charge extra to those ordering meals?

  • This is not at all stores …

went to caringbah nsw 2229 store drive thru and asked for that bigmac special on to be told no .. only certain franchise stores have it.

then I saw the advert on tv and there was nothing in the fine print at bottom of screen stating selected stores only.

total false advertising at it's best …

a small big mac costs $8.45

I was so pissed off …

  • Available at Northbridge (WA), there is a big sign for it at the Drive Thru board

  • The advert was on tv again today … so i paused to read the writing at bottom …
it simply states available after 10:30am.

nothing about pnly participating stores …

    false advertising …

they owe me free maccas for life now … lol

  • Ordered a Big Mac at drive thru. Worker no mention of free drink and fries. Get to second window and worker tells me :oh you have to tell the person you ordered for the free drink and Fries. WTF, cracked the shits and manager gave the drinks and fries after I asked for refund.

Mcdonalds please note don't make your promotions with stupid conditions that are not mentioned in advertising and on your website.

  • You had to ask for the free fries and drink, but the offer finished last week
