Lenovo has the most awful customer service I've ever experienced. Never again.

    • After 15 years on Thinkpads I gave up and ordered a Dell today. So far their customer service has been worse than Lenovo.

      • My experience with Dell a few years ago was fantastic. I can't imagine anything worse than what I've been through with Lenovo.

        • Pray tell

        • @sabaramo:

Lenovo customer service has been good to me.
          - sales, always able to get a response within 24 hours, and the local guys are accommodating. Ordered a laptop (shipped from PRC). They couldnt stop the order (I wanted to order a higher spec in hindsight), theyve ordered a new one for me and kept the already process order in their local warehouse. Ordered 3 laptop online over the past few years. No complaint (except for pricing, significantly higher than the US, but comparable to similar spec aust stock from other brands)

          • warranty, one laptop (X2xx) had door to door warranty. Perfect service with laptop picked up and dropped off (afterward). Very quick. Again, the local guys were pretty sharp and knows what the issue was. Saved me plenty of time.

I second that. Seriously, no matter how good the price looks, spare yourself the pain of dealing with Lenovo and their spyware infested products.

I spent about 2 months going around in circles with Lenovo call centre staff on a DOA laptop. They only honoured their warranty after I made legal threats in writing (and highlighted the exact provisions of the Australian Consumer Law they were violating). They then sent me two replacements by accident. I called (for about the 20th time) and told them to arrange a courier to pick up the extra. Never heard from them again.

Although a free extra laptop was nice, it wasn't worth the two months of pain and frustration. Plus their build quality is awful (I've since disassembled one of the laptops). Only a badly disorganised business would let valuable stock walk out the door, and then not bother to retrieve it.

Been pretty happy so far with my built to order Lenovo laptop purchased in November
Had a poorly connected keyboard button on arrival, someone came out within a couple of days to fix

  • I'm excited about the new T460s and the new Thinkpad 13.

Although, what the OP has posted is exactly the spec level I've been looking for. Decisions, decisions!

  • I was looking to buy a new computer, but only when I bought new memories and battery to upgrade my laptop, this deal showed up. I'll try to pass, but it's very tempting
