  • prefer the chinese stainless steel ones, the point of cooking rice in those is for it to burnt and crisp up in the inside hahaha

  • is this one of these fuzzy-logic ones like a Panasonic or Tiger?

    @ David Jones RRP

    RIP David Jones… :(

this is a great rice cooker.

    • I didn't think it was that hard to be a 'good' rice cooker, let alone a great one!

      • A great rice cooker usually has a very durable bowl which helps cooking rice more evenly. A premium rice cooker can cost hundreds of dollars.

      • Does it depend on you or the rice cooker, I think it depend on how much water you add, if add too much, it become too wet and if not enough it becomes too dry.

Happy enough with my $15 rice cooker

    • Mine one is 8 years old and going strong, think I paid $30 for it.

      • Yeah, pretty simple things. Mines still going after 7 or 8 years too.

Can't imagine the extra $60-70 buys better cooked rice.

  • Is that 10 cups of rice or 5 cups of rice and 5 cups of water?

    • Probably the former but that's a 100% guess.

    • Buy one and you will be 100% sure.

It's 10 cups of rice. (I have one, so I am sure.)

Pretty much every brand of domestic rice cooker measures rice in "cups" which are about 180 mL. So 10 cups means it can take a volume of about 1.8 L of dry rice.

  • Good reviews but no real bargain. Bing lee has it for $85 regular price here https://www.binglee.com.au/breville-brc460-the-rice-boxtm-co…

  • i just repaired one the C(something possiblly C3) error. This has 4 wires that run up to the lid that are prone to break from repetitive strain. Reattached all good. I detailed it on productreview.com.au
Hope that saves another from the dumpster.

  • Better off spending the extra $15 and getting the Tefal at 30% off.

Much thicker bowl, and a lot sexier!

if you are to have 8amex's
    $162 - (8x $10) = $82.00 potential end price for pickup

Example shipping cost +$9.22 for shipping from Melbourne to 2000

[You can pay on StanCash website via paypal visa or master; I am unsure if it is possible to split payment via Paypal, Visa or Master]
I had purchased in store pickup.

10cup units are quite large in size
I personally prefer a 1L or 5cup unit at home.
It is enough for our dinner for a family of 4 with some spare left overs

    • What about the Panasonic without the lcd screen? The basic fuzzy logic one?

Did you look at that one?
Why did you chose the fancy Panasonic over the base model? Thanks.

Edit: thank you for your insight and info, very good of you.
