I found this 2 days after buying a $79 unlimited pass :p. Hopefully someone else will save from this post. My first one btw :D

    • Does this cover parking costs and all that?

      • -1

If its like a gold pass than it should include parking

        • +1

Well, is it like a gold pass then?

      • Doesn't cover parking when i called them but they haven't heard about this offer yet since it was new (when groupon just had it) so i can't say for sure.

      • +1

They would almost certainly use the free parking as a selling point, IF it were included. So I would be expect to be slugged $10 per visit for parking.

Its a shocking water park.. 2 hour wait for rides.. I went there once when the park was almost empty NOT BUSY AT ALL(cold day) They closed almost all the rides ( cost cutting to save money ) i ended up still having to wait 2 hours. That was the last straw for me.

The Bombora ( best ride there ) is closed 50% of the time due to cost cutting as its also the most expensive ride to run.

They will say its for maintenance but it was closed all 5 times that i went to the park last season for a whole range of reasons lol.. what a joke. Friends said it was never closed on the first season the park opened.

Didn't bother with a season pass this year and just went to jambaroo on a single admission ticket. Best day EVER.. the longest wait was 40 minutes for the Funnelweb and that was a HOT busy Saturday on Christmas holidays. Oh i was also allowed to take in my OWN FOOD and DRINK's unlike the Nazi's at wet and wild who dont allow even WATER to be taken in and if you want FREE water you need to drink it from the toilet taps.

tip, avoid school holidays or very hot days :)

"Friends said it was never closed on the first season the park opened."

Bombora was closed for several weeks during the first season, with maintenance workers visibility working on the ride, re-coating the surface for some reason (decrease or increase grip, so the raft moves at the desired speed for safety reasons I'd guess).

But don't let facts get in the way of a good rant!

i have to agree with vid ghost. We had season passes last year. On hot days the wait times were unbearable, but I expected that. The cost cutting and minimal staffing on non busy days was the frustrating thing that ensured I will not go back. Days that would have been awesome if staffed at proper levels were only poor to average because of wait times again. Bombora was open only ONCE over the whole season that we went (maybe a dozen times). I will be surprised if they are still in business in 5 years unless the way it Is managed changes drastically.

  • Is this place still as packed and badly reviewed as when it first opened?

    • +2

I went there a month after it first opened and it was great, best water park in AUS (probably better than QLD park). A lot of ppl go and its packed general all through summer of course but I think like any theme park, if you are happy to be patient you will have no problem going on everything multiple time. If you don't like waiting in lines and waiting your turn then stick to the inferior water parks where there are less people and crappy slides/rides

      • I thought the one in Sydney is smaller than the one on the Gold Coast?

        • ive been to both. Didn't notice any diff. QLD one is good. the syd one is newer.

        • @Gavman: right i just had a look, yeah size wise they look the same. Aw Sydney doesnt have a Mach 5 or AquaLoop equivalent - those two are sick!

        • @ippy: 360 is the same as aqua loop isn't it?

      • its not worth the time spent.

  • Do they take photo of the owner of the pass? Or can we simply share it to someone else after we use it?

    • -1

they take your photo and print it on the pass as you enter the park

      • They give you a wrist band, and your photo is stored in a database and comes up on the screen as your enter the park, as the staff scan your band and let you in.

  • Does the offer apply to Optus Prepaid?

Is the small pack of fries still around $10?

      • They are not likely to go belly up like Dick Smith?

        • Groupon or WetnWild are trusted brands, so I would assume not.

        • @captnrosco:

          Thanks mate.

        • Though Dick Smith was trusted as well…

        • Several year ago I guess so. But everyone has known they aren't doing well for over 6 months now. And after the last time they shut up shop…Wouldn't have trusted them lately.

        • They're on a slippery slope!

  • I was going to go to the QLD one in Aus Day till I saw the price, I remember being a teen and paying like $20.

  • +1

Price is expensive but we had great fun. The toddlers 1-4yo loved the kids area and wave pool was clean considering the huge crowds. The cleanliness might be due to the lack of food being brought in. Yes long waits for rides but never been to a theme park without queueing. If u hate waiting, u can get fastpass for extra $20-60. Bombora was 30 mins wait, T5 was better but took us 60 mins on a 40 degree school holiday. You are allowed to bring water bottles but not hard eskies, only soft fabric eskies. So freeze bottles and the ice will keep ur drinks cool. You can bring in fruit, snack food. Get roaming photographer to take photos for u and scan wrist band for ride photos. End of day get the whole family photos (scan all family members wristbands) on usb drive for $30.

    • This 21 day pass includes the photo pass, so create an account, go home and in theory all your photos will be in the account for free download. The system is very flawed tho, and many of the rides have faulty cameras.

Also, you can take sandwiches as well (unless they have reversed the policy since last year?)
