    summary from the web site…

every week i see these lcd getting cheaper and cheaper and i say to myself "breath…hold…just wait for it…hold.."

  • +2

For a TV this would be OK, but a Monitor @ 1920x1080 is YUK for a computer screen that size! If it was like the iMacs 27" @ 2560 x 1440, I would get 1 NOW! =]

      The man speaks the truth!

My 23" Dell with 2048 x 1152 is far more superior then any 24" with 1920x1080.

Wait guys, anything larger than 24" should have higher resolution for a PC use.

    • yep
"full hd" or 1080p is a selling gimmick. people have come to think that Full HD is the best quality out there, so they dont realise that higher resolutions exist. as long as its full hd it must be good. they dont realise that screens as big as 27" need higher resolutions

thats why apple markets their screens as "high defintion monitors" not "full hd monitors"

      btw 16:9 FTL

i bought a 24" FULL HD monitor and it was "lower" and smaller in height than my 22" non HD monitor. Shame u cant get 16:10 easily these days

  • Argh! Enough is enough. How many grands do you want me to spend on LCDs this week!?

  • Yeah bad for a Monitor Resolution been waiting for a 27+ reasonable price monitor too replace my LCD TV and Monitor

whats so bad about having a monitor at this resolution?

    • +1

true man. i been using a 27" at 1920x1200 and its working great. i rather have a 27" at this resolution then anything smaller thats for sure. people these days are just too picky.

  • which panel it use? looks like TN, because of the 2 ms respond time. any more infomations?

  • Full HD isnt "yuk" on large monitors. Yes there are higher resolutions, but 1080p still looks quite good. I've had a 24" 1080p Asus for a while now, and i love it.

Having said that, at this price you could almost get a noname 32" Full HD tv, and that would be better value.

  • The bottomline is, people buy a monitor that big because they want more real estate to work with, more windows open at a time - people who actually do work. I have a 24 inch myself, with 1920x1200, and it's just right.

A 27 inch as a 1080p tv is OK because your viewing distance is further. As a computer monitor, you'd be sitting at most 3 feet away, and 1080p will make everything look pixelated at that distance… I imagine the pixel pitch must be huge!

    • true, but LCDs look best at native resolution… using it for a monitor only for work etc your 100% correct,

however, throw in a few blueray HD movies, a tv tuner, give me a 1080 screen over a higher res screen.

This monitor is not about real estate, it's a gaming screen that doubles as a computer monitor. The features and design should be a giveaway.
