Worx 1.4kw High Pressure Cleaner - $45 @ Masters

730
HARDWARE

My first deal for years, so I shall be pleased if I have done this correctly. This machine won't become a family heirloom, but at this price, I imagine it will have paid for itself after a few uses.

Use the code HARDWARE to take the total down to $45 - thanks to singlefished https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/230508#comment-3386531 and the "10% off Sitewide or in Store (Excludes Appliances) @ Masters" deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/228794

$4.50 cheaper to those who suck at maths :P

      • 0.1 x $50 = $5. Hmm.. I must suck at maths :(

  • Make sure you keep your receipt. These units are not reliable.

Will make some fine landfill in the not-too-distant future

    • If it's by Worx, I'd imagine it works.

      • Dunno, but it's supposed to work from a bucket or tank,
not just mains water. Maybe useful at off-mains sites.

PS Masters must IMPROVE their Order Entry web app…

Asks same Q's several times (name & do you want
eMails, & maybe "I've read T&C's" check box.

The 10% "HARDWARE" discount is applied to EACH unit ordered.

Masters seem to be in Woolies group; can enter Woolies card #.

  • Good for car wash?

    • +13

yes, will clean your car wash well.

      • +1

        Haaa…
One of the reviews say it's hopeless at cleaning off bugs when washing your car

        • +4

Not necessarily a bad thing. You don't want to blast paint off.

        • +1

          @Wallyt99:
Or force water into where it is not meant to go… :-(

        • @Wallyt99:

Unless the paint is already damaged, there's next to no chance of that happening with a home domestic unit.

        • @atlas:

          If there's a stone chip however….

        • -1

So, us a brush with its spray… DOH!

PS Does it mix Soap you supply with the water?

        • @Wallyt99: I have a more powerful machine (2000w I think) and several stone chips and hasn't been a problem thankfully.

        • +2

          @atlas:

Just don't put the nozzle to close!

Btw… Anyone who I saying "use a brush" on you car…. That's a very very bad idea unless you want the worst swirl marks ever.

        • +1

Anything but a cloth in your hand tends to be really.

        • @Wallyt99: Nobody said "Use" read clearly it is "us" ….DOH!

The biggest chain store in Australia that doesn't have convenient locations. Masters really need to get their act together.

    • +3

I think they should go online only and just have a few more convenient click & collect centres.

    • +1

Never bother driving that far too get to Masters for these sort of deals. They might as well close down like dicksmith. Poor locations. Pay more money get better locations like bunnings!

      • Maybe that is their actual plan, sell it off and float on the share market, boom and gone.

  • Cheap but 2 out of 5 stars from Masters customer reviews doesn't inspire confidence.

  • +1

Anyone know if this has a foam dispenser? Want to know how good it is at foaming up car shampoo.

    • +3

Yes it does come with a foamer attachment. Pretty effective.

      • +1

Thanks, I just bought the last one from Sunshine Masters. Foams great on the car, not very efficient at using the shampoo so I'll have to switch to a cheaper shampoo just for the gun. The Sunshine manager said they're not getting anymore of these from China as the shipments are getting too slow for these, so I imagine these are clearance products, get in before they're gone. Other than that, well worth the price tag.

        • +2

not very efficient at using the shampoo so I'll have to switch to a cheaper shampoo just for the gun.

Mix it with a bit of water so it takes it up easier.

  • +6

I bought this when it was $70. Must say it does a pretty good job at cleaning my car including splattered bugs after a long highway drive. Can clean the porch in a pinch too but is a little slow at doing so. At this price with a 2 years warranty, it is a steal, a no brainer.

  • +4

Thanks OP! Just purchased online and click and collect. Paid $42.75 ($50 less 10% = $45; Paid via woolworths ewish card so $45 less 5% = $42.75). Also used cashrewards so hopefully another 2% cash back which is only like $0.85 lol but not sure if cashrewards honours payments via ewish cards though… can anyone confirm?

    • +2

Just a further update on the cashrewards situation on my above post… just received an email from them to confirm $1.05 cashback :)

All we need, now, is a way to
      enable online purchases to access
      ING's 2% PayWave rebate… :-/

Maybe some Start-Up can devise a
we app that "looks like" a PayWave
      terminal, but is connected to
      the Internet, to take our
      online-orders' payment requrests,
      making them look like PayWave
      transactions… ;-)

PayPal should have done this -
even if it'd need to be hidden,
eg, on the Dark Net… ;-)
      - to benefit ING customers… :-)

      • +1

Do you even understand the difference between Card Present and Card Not Present (Internet/IVR) transactions ?

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Another impulse purchase

Any thought about this $40 scorpion from master? It has good reviews. https://m.masters.com.au/product/100483530/scorpion-1300w-pr…

    • Out of stock

      • Just ordered one a few minutes ago for $36. Will hold onto the receipt.

  • I've ordered one with click & collect. Hoping it is actually a decent and usable unit, i have not had much success with ~$50 pressure washers in the past under normal use so will hang onto the receipt. If it's good for even a few months i won't complain. The reviews don't look fantastic but i'm under the impression those people might have expected a bit much from it. Right now waiting for a click and collect confirmation to pick up, been a couple hours.

  • +1

I had to return mine because the plastic fitting on the front snapped before i even got to use it.
You get what you pay for i suppose.

  • I would rather buy this which has better reviews

    https://www.masters.com.au/product/100738951/worx-1-5kw-high…

  • Cheers OP :) Btw any one know where you can buy a turbo nozzle for this one.

  • Went for the $70 model ($63 with code) even though my old Karcher still works just fine - but hey at $63 couldn't resist.

Still about a dozen of them on the shelves at Upper Coomera store. Even a couple of the $40 ones there as well.
