I've tried black noise and would never go back…
If it works, it's worth its weight in gold. What they need is a trial period although at this price it's cheap enough anyway. You are supposed to replace dummies every month if they are regularly used, so this would not only save you money (ozbargain) but it is also better for the environment and your baby's jaw.

Many of these devices can harm a baby's hearing.

It's truly amazing how otherwise perfectly rational people become preggos and turn into complete bumbling rubes. The kind of rubes that will pay handsomely to play various sounds to their children, unborn or otherwise, in the expectation of various undefined benefits that babies seem to have either way.
