wasnt worth $99.95 and probably isnt worth $25 either.

    • True that!

    • +7

      Rawsons Retreat $8 x 2 = $16 @ Dan murphys
      Walkers Shortbread $2.90 @ woolworths
Dark Choc Mints - lets just say $5
      Crackerthins ~$5 @ Coles

That's $25 already, question is, how much of this would you actually consume and how much would be left in the cupboard until expiry.

      • +3

The seagrass basket prob worth about $5 too?

      • +1

Minus the time and fuel to go to David Jones and buy this crap.
Most of the crap will sit in the cupboard until it's time to throw out or until the zombie apocalypse.

        • +1

Should we feed it to the zombies or consume ourselves?

        • @Multiverse: Ourselves, keep our brains nice and active for the zombie buffet.

    • +3

Who in their right mind paid $99.95

      • +7

Yes, it's nothing short of theft.

Hoping to catch out the unwary shoppers who are caught up in the pre-Xmas rush.

Don't get me wrong, all hampers are hideously overpriced…..but this is just shameful.

Maybe the REP can get back to us when it's 90% off and free shipping?

        • +1

Yeah I have bought some hampers in the past and they did have a little bit of mark up, but you are right, down right robbery.

      • +5

        Companies.

You'd surprised what crap people sent clients

      • +1

        The non-Ozbargainer.

      • +4

The type of person who buys things full price at DJs?

        • They exist, pay full inflated retail and happy they are buying 'a quality product' from a quality establishment. haha

  • -7

When they don't even mention what wine it is, it's probably crap.

    • +3

      Rawsons Retreat. About $8 bottle.

    • +3

They do mention what wine it is though

      • -5

        Not in the post description.

        • and Rawsons Retreat wine varieties

        • -8

@Infidel: DOESNT SAY WHAT TYPE OF WINE!

    • +8

Rawson's Retreat 2014 Chardonnay and 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon

I found this hidden information by looking at the image on the David Jones website

      • +2

        LOL….

But in all fairness to Sqeek, the description does state "Penfolds wine varieties". This does leave the door open for them to use any variety, and not necessarily the ones pictured.

The argument is purely academic of course, as none of us will be buying this anyway.

  • Pretty average value even at $25. Shipping totally kills it.

    • +1

Shipping is only $10. That part of it at least is fair.

  • +1

To buy the wine from Dan Murphy's is 16 bucks (8 bucks each).
That leaves 9 bucks for the rest, seems steeply priced even at 25, no wonder there is leftovers, at 100 people who bought it be crazy

  • +3

How can you put cooking wine in a hamper? Gross

  • +1

    Rawson's Retreat. YUK! :(

    • +1

Agreed. I retreat whenever I see Rawson's on offer.

    • No way. The Cab Sav is easily one of the best cheap wines going IMHO.

  • +2

I'll wait until it gets to 95% off

  • +1

There are a couple of other things behind there. But what they are I don't know. Who have helped if the description from DJs is more… descriptive.

  • Are any of the big indulgence pack worth it?

  • +2

Buy it for this year christmas then it's vintage wine and not current release put in fresh biscuits and people will think they are getting a $99 hamper for Christmas 2016 if you leave old price or dj card attached .

  • you'd be burning if you paid $99 and ended up with a few rawsons retreats

  • +1

Myer has 75% off instore on actual decent stuff, picked up some great sauces, mustards and chutneys. Always stock up after Christmas to last me the year.

Might go back at 90% off for a hamper maybe.
