Still 5 cents cheaper on PC Byte eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-64GB-Evo-Micro-SD-SDXC-UH…

Or if you're willing to get it shipped from HK, sinceritytrading has it for $24.79: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SAMSUNG-64GB-MICRO-SDXC-EVO-48MB-…

    • will the work on Nikon D3300/5300 DSLR?

      • +1

        Yeah it should be fine.

      • +2

Only if you have an adaptor card. This is a microSD aimed at mobile devices. DSLRs tend to use full size SD cards.

You may want to look at a faster card for better performance (e.g. reduced time between taking photos).

      • +2

Yes, but this is a micro SD, you will need a full size SD adapter. You may be better off with a full size SD.
These cameras will also do high speed burst, which is where your faster write speed cards are used.
As they are entry level cameras its unlikely you'll ever need to max the card on on a continuous 5fps
The worst that happens is your burst shots may slow down after 10 or 20 shots while the buffer writes to the card.
10 to 20 burst shots is good enough to capture that perfect smile while your kid swings up & down.

IMHO Good deals are evo plus or SanDisk ultra
    64 gb = <25$
    32gb = <15$

Rest are almost pointless as they are regular prices these days. ..

  • +1

    dont forget cashrewards.

  • +1

Ordered a 32gb one of these from them a few days before New Year and still not even shipped it…

  • +2

I agree, regular pricing now. Futu also had it on ebay at this price…and it was shipped door to door in 2 days!

    • Service of Futo is rubbish. I ordered a laptop from them and they just did not ship it. I have to go to their warehouse to pick it up twice.

      • +4

        Did you get two?

        • +1

I went to the warehouse twice but they refused to give me the laptop, saying that the parcel was on the way, but the truth was they never sent it, so I returned to warehouse three days later.

  • does anyone know if the samsungs work well with go pros? I wanted to pair one up with the gopro hero+ lcd, but the recommended sd cards are Sandisk?

Any reason why you can't use samsung?

    • ive been using Samsung EVO or PRO for microSD on my GoPro Hero4 Black and my Xiaomi Yi cam without any issues. I prefer samsung coz they've had cheaper deals. but as for regular SD/SDHC/SDXC cards.. i prefer Sandisk Extreme Pros. It's personal preference in the end.

      • The guy I bought my gopro from said it had to be a U3 memory card or it would not work with some of the formats/resolutions whilst recording.

Is this true? I have a GoPro hero 4 Silver, will this card work fine for any of its settings?photos/videos?

        Excuse the noob question

        • If you record in 1080p Super View or higher resolutions, you may get freezes, stutters etc.

Best to pick something better if you record in higher resolutions.

        • @burrt: cheers for that. exactly what i wanted to know. how much 'better' would you recommend? UHS3? Or is that overkill?

        • +1

@nuggy: UHS is a speed class for UHS devices only. I dont know if it applies to gopro. This is why cards with UHS logo still have class 10 logo.

Gopro asks for a CLASS 10 card with high speed, yes not all class 10 are the same, some write 10Mb/s some write 40Mb/s, huge difference

If you want to be safe and sure, just go with what the gopro website suggest. They have tested it. Ask yourself, if it worth the $20 saving when you are out there filming, and come back to find the videos choppy, freezes at some point.

        • +1

          @nuggy:

Here are some Official recommendations (these are mostly 4K capable cards with write speeds > 60MB/s - so might be an overkill if you have no intention on recording at that resolution)

At around 1080p 60fps, you might need a SD card that has around 60MB/s WRITE speed to be safe

        • @burrt: really helpful mate. cheers for that. might go for this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229806

        • @Azn310:

I'm confused but a "U3" card per se is therefore a diferent convention to the "UHS" class 10 etc? In the case of a class 10 card like the samsung evo's, what would you say is a minimum Mb/s write speed for a decent 1080p HD 64fps shot that say the gopro hero+lcd could do? I don't have the gopro hero 4 line. however i do know that the gopro hero+lcd can manage the minimum HD quality.

Wondering basically what sort of read/write speed at a minimum to avoid any noticeable video quality issues?

        • @SaberX: just get the better ones if u can and dont think twice man, imagine out there filming and the videos flicker, it costs a lot more than a few dollars. These cards last a long time, so in the long run, you are better off anyways.

Search Lexar 633 on amazon US, they are about AU$35 for 64Gb now. One of the best cards for gopro, imho.

Regarding UHS, U3 is also part of the UHS convention, it is suppose to be better than U1, on UHS-capable devices.

      • has the samsung EVO's been fast enough at class 10 compared to the PRO for you to record in reasonable HD on your GOPRO Hero4 black? I'd be using mine in a GOpro Hero+LCD so not so high tech, but i think the base resolution is 1080p at 64fps? so if the samsung evo's can handle that then I will save my money on getting the samsung pros?

As the card is cheaper elsewhere and likely to become cheaper, I think that warrants a negative vote as a caution to others.

      • +2

No idea why you neg'd the deal. Still a great price. It's always going to cost more via eBay.

        • +1

Voting Guidelines state that an appropriate use of a negative vote is a cheaper price elsewhere.

The price in this deal is reasonable but not the cheapest and price/GB will continue to fall, especially with a TA coupon :-). I think with SD cards you should only buy if the price is a significant discount and you need it.

    • I been away and missed all those micro sd card deals so im eagerly awaiting you to work yo magic for the next deal i pray will come TA.

    • Posted by the man himself - bought and delivered within two days - thanks TA.

waiting for the evo plus 64gb deal again.

    • What was it… like $2 dearer than the Evo at the time?
I definitely would've grabbed one had I not had the Evo physically in the post coming to me the day before!!!

      • $31 AUD. I have 2 Evo+ collecting dust from the TA last deal. Hoarding them like eneloop :)

        • I don't have enough uses for them any more… Especially since Samsung went internal memory on the Galaxy S6!!!
