Harvey Norman's website says a saving of $270. RRP on sony's website is $2299
better go for x8500
seems to cost an extra $1000 though
Not the best value for money-it's Sony's entry level 4k TV, 50Hz…. Something like the Panasonic CX700a -$1098 or the Samsung JU6400 -$1398 would be better value for money (both 100Hz and better overall TVs).
6 months free presto here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223925
which one would be the best for gaming (input lag)?
The Samsung would be far superior to the other 2. Input lag was measured to be 28ms, which is great. Good review of it here https://www.avforums.com/review/samsung-ue55ju6400-uhd-revie…
panasonics are good.
If you dont mind, $3000, what TV in 55" do folks recommend? I dont need to spend all of the $3k but would for the right TV
Panasonic AX900 or the LG OLED FHD 55" model
Im kind of not keen on OLED, looks awesome, but LG is the only one doing them, Im less than filled with confidence in the current tech long term.
Is the 900 Panny available in 55", or even at all? Cant seem to find them in store…I would like the LG except it is curved. I would actually spend a bit of time watching TV off to the side.
You'll be happy to know that LG have launched flat versions of their OLED's but as with most things, it will take a while before it filters itself down into the retail sector and probably a bit longer before it drops in price to reasonable levels (In my days when 4K TV came out it started at $10K — oh hang on that wasn't that long ago)
@digitalaxon: I I'll eagerly await a flat screen OLED
@Tuba: Why is this being down voted so badly? It's a legitimate concern, isn't it?
I had my eyes set on the LG 55" OLED but after reading up some cons (mainly colour shifts overtime and image retention) it was enough to deter me. I know the display models that I see in stores have been abused badly, but seeing one with a horrible case of image retention in person didn't help me justify the purchase for a 2k+ TV.
@Tuba:
no idea why people have negged you.
Panasonics best for 55inch is the 800 series.
I too think oled looks good but I wouldnt be paying that amount of dollars for an LG TV. And can go wothout a curved screen too.@PVA: and @Hunga: True, I also dont want curved. Im not anti LG, its just no one else is playing about with OLED, Samsung have stopped, or at least nothing is yet available, and you have to think theres a reason for that. I did like the OLED picture, it is awesome, its just the tech seems very iffy and Im not keen t be an early adopter. For $1000 TV, maybe, but not for $3000.
Ill probably end up with a Samsung 8 series in 55. Ah well, let em neg away.
JU6400 - judder is present on 24p movies
the $1000 Panasonic is 50inch not 55 like the sony.
Panas 55inch is a similar price.
How much is it normally?
