I've bought from adreno a number of times and have always found their service to be fantastic (if you call them up they're more than happy to help with all your questions!), Prices have been fantastic for everything I've bought and shipping is fast. I've not bought anything recently but would say that their prices are probably amongst the best around - or at least they used to be!

It appears those fins linked to above are actually just the foot pocket (no blade), and that is the price for just one, not a pair?

    • LOL. Thanks for the pickup. I might have to contact them and have my order changed. Here comes the NOOB phone call

      • No worries ;)

I'm no pro, but I also prefer the open heel fins plus booties over the full-footed fins, so you can walk over rocks and rough surfaces to and from your dive site, they are easier to adjust, and easier to put on / take off.

If you plan to go spearfishing I would recommend against open heel fins. They are not as efficient as full the foot pockets, open heels snag ropes easily and I have had buckles break before. Just learn to swim from shore or get some old shoes ;)

    • My first pair of l beginner but proper dive fins cost me $200 years ago. Expect to pay $120-$200 for a decent set.
Alternatively, if you are just beginning a cheap pair from the sports store is a good option until you are ready to get serious

Dangerous sport, dangerous deals…at least for my credit card.

    • Tell me about it! I just bought some rubber, gloves and booties and spent $250!

  • Great post - managed to replace some of my dying abalone gear and grab a new spear

Not sure how they may be related, but from having a look online for similar gear wetsuitwarehouse appears. Some similar items included, with identical sale branding, and they are physically located in Brisbane apparently right next to adreno (58 and 56 Deshon St respectively). Shipping looks to be flat rate $10 compared with $15 on adreno, so might be worth checking here as well

  • From memory they operate adreno for diving and scubadiving.com.au, swimwear shack, spearfishing.com.au, wetsuit warehouse. There may be others. They have multiple brands.
