The one with the USB adapter wireless and the adapter is the wireless receiver.
The wired controller has a USB plug. Xbox 360 Controller for Windows (Wired) and Xbox 360 Controller are the exact same controller and can be used on both Windows and the Xbox 360.
The only difference aside from the packaging is that the one marked "for Windows" includes a driver CD.

I would recommend it to anyone. The wire is something like 2m or 3m long. P&P for the PC. Great controller for emulators too.
Note this is not the one for Windows with USB adapter.
