70

Wagamama is holding a national tweet-up on the evening of Tue 9/3/10. This is in all capital cities, excluding Darwin & Adelaide.

From the website:

the wagamama national tweet-up is a free social networking event intended to facilitate connections between tweeps and to offer a sneak peek of wagamama's new specials

each ticket holder will be able to choose one of the dishes off our new specials menu to try for free, one night before we launch the menu nationally

the event will be casual with no agenda, just a chance to meet + tweet + eat

why did we choose wagamama for a tweetup? simple, the casual dining, national locations, communal tables and free wifi (tweetups only) makes it the perfect location to meet + tweet + eat

this is a national event (the first tweetup of its kind) so get involved and tweet with noodle lovers across the country. this tweetup will be running in sydney, brisbane, canberra, melbourne and perth.

tickets are free but limited so get in quick!

  • So is this a compeititon or a giveaway, either way where's the bargain ?

    • Don't you know that freebie = giveaway?

      • Yes and do you know freebie = forums and not bargain

        • Well why do they have the option for you to list a freebie?

A freebie to me is a bargain.

Obviously the people who voted this positive agree!

          • @kokomo1978: lol not saying this isnt a good idea besides the taste of the food.

normally things such as this without a price attached or reduced price are more appropriate for the forums, this has tended to be the flow of things around here of late.

I dont run the site , we do (community does , thanks Scotty)just commenting on the the history of these things seems freebies are best in the forums.

Unless of course it attracts lots of attention which this may

While your at it you may want to change the title to expired or sold out

            • @Mikinoz: Freebies = Submit deal
              Discount = Submit deal
              Competition = Forum

Each ticket holder will be able to choose one of the dishes off our new specials menu to try for free, one night before we launch the menu nationally.

So it's a ticket for 1 free meal. Let me tell you though, I've been to free events involving free food with bloggers/tweeters and its not a pretty site.

              • @neil: Oh and looks like they are releasing more tickets.

                Their twitter feed

                • @neil: lol that sort of clears it up :)

so is this a competition or freebie , a chance to get a free ticket , borderline :) imo

  • Sold out

    • WA & ACT still available.

  • someone in vic was greedy to order 10 tix.
is it one of the ozbargainers!?! :)

    • I'm guessing so, since Vic was still available prior to my post :)

  • thanks to OP :)

  • So Adelaide is no longer a captial city? I feel so small…

    • Knew I was missing one…… lol sorry.

  • Wow they went fast!!!!!! I have been watching them for two days before I posted up here, and they were going very slowly.

    • +1

Dont underestimate the power of Ozbargain ;)

    • how did you find out about it? just curious!

      • A major twitter friend of mine emailed me about it a few days ago. I just held off posting on here so the legit twitter geeks could get them :)

  • I'm not sure I understand the concept of a "tweet-up".

    • Well, there is MTUB for example where twitterers in Melbourne meetup for drinks every month. It's a good networking event or just an excuse for a drink. Some of the most followed Twitterers attend the MTUB.

Just another medium of a site meetup. So imagine Ozbargain members had a meetup at some bargain restaurant where we could have drinks, meet the leader, talk bargains whatever.

      • Um yeah sounds good , the restaurant would have to be offering bargains of course :)

  • I think ozbargainers rule! (Mind you, not ALL ozbargainers.)

  • I got tickets for Brisbane, not sure going or not, any Ozbargainers going?
