yes, very. that is the main appeal of it.

        BOUGHT

  • How does this compare to the Nutribullet?

    • +2

      general consensus is its better.

      • -4

nah, the bullet is the best by far, liqufies the fruit, this one leaves it still too chunkey…

the issue is with the bullet 900wat the blacdes chip with ice.

Been eyeing the Ninja for awhile and most sale staff tell me that it has a stronger motor (1000w compared to 600w on the Nutribullet). But I think the main differences is within the blades. The Ninja supposedly has sharper blades that protrude upwards which provide a stronger "whirlpool" effect compared to the Nutribullet which is more horizontal. I'm looking to upgrade my Nutribullet with this Ninja especially at this price! The Nutribullet does come with a milling blade and also extra handles/lids for the containers which the Ninja does not provide.

      • Thanks both for the comments. I've been using a blender for morning smoothies, which is definitely overkill. Going to finally pull the trigger on this!

  • How does this compare to NutriBullet?

You should add the word "the" and make the B lower case. Just to have the exact same question as the person above.

      • Got a good chuckle out of that ;o)

  • How does the NutriBullet compare to this?

    • See the comment thread two posts above yours. Link if you can't manage scrolling.

  • Seriously what's the difference between this and typical breville blender?

    • Time for me to chime in…

I bought a Breville about 3 years ago.

The spindle piece at the bottom developed a leak, naturally just after a year/warranty expired.
Just thought okay… might just be bad luck, I'll buy a new spindle unit and replace myself…
after all it was a $550.00 unit. Ummm, parts not available!!!!!!!

      Breville for me… never again.

In saying that, maybe one cannot get parts for the Bullet or Ninja products post warranty?

      Anybody?

      • This ninja bullet thing, Isn't it the one seen on TV? Just don't trust TV promo stuff..

  • I just tried to buy a portable aircon, it turned out that the order got cancelled later on and marked as out of stock for a moment, then it was adjusted to ship out only… be awared of this trick and you may end up with no any bargain from TGG…..

  • +2

I don't get these things at all. Blenders have been around for many decades - then someone turns the container upside-down and suddenly they're all trendy?

    • +3

Secret top nutritionist-scientist-doctors discover a secret "ninja" like way top extract more nutrients out of the same amount of fruit and veg.

    • +1

The difference is vast. This system extracts the nutrients from within the cells that make up the vegetable or fruit you are blending. This is something that your teeth cannot do. Humans have not yet evolved to blend produce in their mouth and this product fills that gap.

      • +2

Where's the winky emoji at the end of that post? Or have you just been drinking the koolaid?

    • its compact and its very easy to clean compared to a normal blender. Also the cup can be used to drink from so you dont have to pour out from a blender jug. Go to Kmart and buy the $30 homebrand one to try it out, i think its pretty worth the money.

  • +1

Not another "how does it compare to Nutribullet" comment.

But, how does it compare to the other Ninja Pro (BL450) model? Apart from the extra wattage and IQ settings, is there a big difference between the two?

  • Yeah I didn't realise it was a trendy thing till recently (to many provo student mates who don't spend money on fancy upside down blenders).

I also don't understand how blenders are suddenly in? When I used it it seemed just like a blender but you can fit less in it???

    • +1

Does anyone even know what the Auto-IQ thing even does? It's not explained anywhere on the site. They just link to a 30sec video which explains nothing except to tell you the blender has Auto-IQ.

The whole thing sounds like marketing wank. Shouldn't need to spend $150 to get a decent blender, even more so if it's smaller.

But whatever floats your boat. A deal is a deal if its cheaper than anywhere else.

      • Auto IQ setting will set a fixed time (e.g 60 secs) , and blend in progressively longer bursts, with pauses in between. E.g 2 sec blend, then 3 sec pause, then 5 second blend.

According to the manual, (from memory) the idea of the pauses is to allow the initial large chunks of food to settle back towards the blade, before the nexrpt pulse, to increase effectiveness and efficiency,

        • That doesn't actually involve any sort of automatic intelligence. It's just a varying pulse mode. Calling it "Auto IQ" is just bs wank ;)

  • +2

Is this worth the extra $40 over the Pro version?

    • +1

I bought the Pro version from Myer for $115.

I think it does a decent job of blending. Just bought mine and only used it twice so far and am quite happy with it.

The Auto IQ is I feel for someone who wants to let the machine blend without having to manually do it (I have to push the unit down to blend, the Auto IQ will blend from pressing a button). The other difference is that the Auto IQ has 100 Watts more power

For anyone who is really interested, I was flicking channels on TV and happened to see the Nutri Ninja Auto IQ on Extra and decided to call them. They were offering BOGOF for the Auto IQ. Having a conversation with them, it was $269 for one and $279 for 2 (the BOGOF deal) delivered. So, if anyone has a friend who lives close by and would like to get one, it is ~$140 each.

I decided to keep the Pro though. My normal blender is now back in the box. The Nutri Ninja makes it so easy to clean. Essentially it is just the cup and the cover I have to wash after sculling the contents.

Hope this helps someone considering buying this.

  • If anyone wants a "real" blender, the Omniblend is going for about $234 with the coupon + cashrewards.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-JTC-Omniblend-1-2L-CHERRY…
It's got commercial-grade motor that's more than double the power of this Ninja, so it should do a much better job at making smoothies, amongst other things.

    • people want the smaller units with less parts, because they are convinient and easier to clean, you dont need to put together 50 parts and then clean them…..

How to get 4% cashback from this deal? Thanks.

    • OMG, It says how in the description………..

      • -1

TGG is not in the list which offers 4% cashback.

        • It's eBay site-wide…doesn't matter which seller as long as you go via cashrewards.com.au to the ebay.com.au website.

  • Forgot Cashrewards :(

  • Bought this Boxing Day at Good Guys Geelong for $172, so of course this deal comes out DAYS later. Anyway I'm happy with it so far, the Auto IQ blend goes for 45 seconds and really does the trick on what Ive tried so far, kills my old Kogan.

Now I will mention one thing, it's SUPER LOUD. So anyone looking to make smoothies before work better think again if you have others asleep, the loudness took me back but its not a deal breaker, just good for a heads up though.

    • It is loud but it hasn't woken up my 4 m.o son which is a surprise.

  • Wow, this is a great price. Got one in December for $189 from Big W the week before xmas. We did our research first and found it was the better buy over the nutrabullets.

  • Based on my research, the 'Nutri' line of blenders is overrated (though that arguably goes for anything that has such market saturation unless it's nigh on perfect). Pursuant to a Choice review, I purchased the TS200 from HN instead for considerably less. However, Choice reviews don't typically account for reliability (but a two year warranty and implied guarantees under the ACL are somewhat reassuring).
