    • Interesting mate, Are they hard to use?

Nah not at all. i use the tube. bout 5-10 minutes per refill. I used to get the proper refills from the uk as they are so expensive here.

        • So the 100 meters of refill is good for months until it runs out?? Or do you need to refill every time you dispose of the soiled nappy(which 5-10mins)??

How long is 1 refill of a sangenic??

        • @fritzsticker:

Each refill last us 1 week and we use about 7-8 meters / refill. So the 100 meter roll will have about 14 refills or so and last about 3 months.

        • @scampy:

          Thnks scampy..

so how does it work?? The pix at ebay is not clear.. So step 1 refill then step 2 throw bin then step 3 seal the bin then step 4 refill again??

        • @fritzsticker:

Took me a while to figure it out. You take the plastic ring off the cassette and place the cardboard over the cassette. You then put the plastic over the cardboard and push the plastic down over the cardboard and onto the ring. When completed, you push all the plastic all the way to the ring and then put the ring back on.

        • @scampy: thanks scampy

    • It certainly interesting.

Coles has a regular price for 4 refills for $30. $7.50 per refill.
Hard to find one that stocks it or ever has them in stock though.

    • I check my local coles (Brisbane south side) every time I do shopping and stock one when I find one. It is the cheapest I found so far too.

  • We bought into this bin system for our newborn and have found that we go through a cassette every two weeks!!! We don't bother tightly scrunching up the nappies though but it seems very expensive to run. The Angelcare bin seems a bit better as you can use normal black garbage bags in it once you've used up the refills and it still operates just as effectively - check youtube for instructions.

  • So is angel care more cost effective??

    • Search youtube for DIY refills for diaper bins. Most videos use the Angelcare bins and a normal black garbage bag as the Angelcare bins have a springloaded clamping mechanism which seals the bag shut. The Sangenic bins use a special twist mechanism which stops you from easily using normal garbage bags - you'd have to buy specific DIY film to load it into your old cartridges. Still expensive DIY compared to the cost of normal garbage bags.

  • Can we pricematch this with toysrus for the refill??

  • we got ours from the baby show, I don't think I'd have bought it if I knew the running costs -
anyone tried this on the sangenic? http://www.sametic.eu/en/600-meters-of-sametic-foil-plus-ski…
    $79.05EUR ~$120aud for 600 meters, I think it's 6m to a sangenic refill.. so $1.20 effectively for a refill… with a bit of effort.
I'd love to pull the trigger on it but I don't want to commit until I hear of someone doing it with the sangenic

  • Biodegradable 3rd party refills for these are a good way to go.

    Pootube.com
    (not a gross porn site).
The oem ones are a huge environmental waste.

Ps, don't bother wasting cartridges putting non poopy (only wet) nappies in these bins.

      Link should be PooTube.com.au :)

    • I think it works out to be roughly $4 or $5 for these when compared to the original $7.50 at Coles.

The ones from the Sametic site work out a lot cheaper.

  • I recommend to use Scented Nappy Bags instead of those bins with the refills which quite expensive over time. It only cost $4 ish for 200 bags. Coles have them. Its like a normal garbage bags but way smaller enough for 1-2 nappies and is scented to cover the smell. You can tight it very well over the top and you wouldnt even smell it at all

    • Tried it. Doesn't work.
Tried bagging in scented nappy bags, throwing intothe Sangenic bin that's lined with a scent garbage bag, and the smell is still over powering.
Eventually it starts to smell like your typical public baby change room.

Otherwise my kid has some nasty smelling stuff coming out of his body that even these scent bags can't handle.

      • Maybe combined with scented air freshener?
