Nothing like responsible service of alcohol eh ? Thanks OP but this sounds like a riot (literally) in the making…

LOL, maybe. But it's Baseball, not Soccer. Should be right ;-)

geez - that comment is likely to flare up some controversy here!

That's assuming the soccah hooligans can get past Rebecca Wilson hogging the bar.

This is seriously screwed up. I wonder what idiot had this idea and how long they are going to keep their liquor licence.

Contrary to popular belief alcohol doesn't cause violence, violent people do. Everyone knows one person who drinks and turns into an asshole.

    • +4

Unfortunately alcohol is a facilitator of violence; there are plenty of statistics to bear that out.

    • If everyone knows one person who drinks and turns into an asshole, then everyone is a potential asshole.

'Contrary to popular belief alcohol doesn't cause violence, violent people do. Everyone knows one person who drinks and turns into an asshole.'

This is basically a contradiction. In the second of your two sentences, you state that in some people, alcohol causes them to become violent. ERGO, in some people, alcohol causes violence.

Anyways, all I can say is I hope the cops make it clear before the event / as people enter that they'll be doing a lot of random breath-testing of the drivers leaving the car-park / surrounding areas… an 'all you can drink' event will defo' result in a lot of peeps drinking more than they originally intended to.

I agree with both sentiments, but it's not alcohol's fault, per-se.
Violent people cause violence, and unfortunately alcohol is an inhibitor of self control.

    • Good point also Cars and Guns dont kill people, its the person behind it that does, thats why we regulate the use of Guns, Cars and Alcohol

      • If we could entirely trust people to be decent with guns, cars and alcohol, we wouldn't need laws to regulate them.

Also, some people don't need the threat of court or prison to not assault, murder, steal. But some do.

But let's get back to baseball!

  • Ive been to heaps of their games (2015/16 member), they do all you can drink nearly every week but its usually dearer/only available with a food package. I have never seen any trouble.

Best was a few weeks ago where the pizza place across the road was doing deliveries and cheap beer all night
