Cool. My similar electrolux system just broke down after 2 years of daily use. These are great if you have a pet that loses hair. Saves getting the big vacuum out everyday.
I'd like more info about the battery etc.. is the 15min usage time likely to deteriorate after heaps of uses, etc etc?
Hopefully it will be a SLA (sealed lead acid) battery. We bought a very similar machine in 2003 for our apartment, I think it was a Panasonic or Sharp brand with a Panasonic SLA battery (6V I think). Cost a wee bit more than this, but it has been used and abused (mostly by tenants) since then, and has only last month given up the ghost. So that was a solid 6 years+ use.
Just a warning, I love Aldi and their prices but I'd avoid their household electrical goods. My personal experience and that of my friends and family is that they don't last very long.
I got a regular cyclonic vacuum cleaner from Aldi a while back. It's been brillant and beats my old Dyson (newer ones would have improved). Each product is different (depending on the company manufacturing it) but I don't think their failure rate is any different from others - Sometimes it's just bad luck if you get a faulty item. Warranty and 60-day return policy is as good/better than other retailers so it shouldn't be an issue if problems occur with something like this.
It varies and very hard to judge ahead of time. It could be a big Chinese manufacturer that Aldi got a scoop bulk purchase from or a second tier Chinese manufacturer trying to break into the market. It can be a bit of a gamble. For some of Aldi stuff, I'm perfectly satisfied with them, but then there's not much that can go wrong with a toaster. :)
Just make sure to hang on to the sales docket in case you need to return it. Aldi's pretty good about returns.
I dont want to vote - if this gets to popular, it will be sold out before I can get it :p
here is a vote on your behalf elcheapo
Midea (reasonable Hong Kong brand) ones are $49.87 at Big W. Is this really a bargain? Please comment!
Thanks, been looking for one of these :)
