$2.20 is ok but they look like old stock to me, but good enough to cook up today n freeze if you don't mind mushy mushies.

Btw did you check for an expiry date on each one? I bet one day it will come to that to avoid any legal repocussions.

    • Fry, sauce, mince yum!

    • sorry if I misunderstood. I reckon the fresh fruits have no expiry date in Aussie market yet.

  • Man, worth going to Hurstville to buy a few kilos!

    • There is nothing magical about these mushrooms for you to buy kilos. :p

maybe clarky will cast a spell on the mushrooms and make them magical

        • leave them out in the sun for awhile

  • I am almost certain there is some difference between flat mushrooms and Portobello Mushroom. Either that or my local Coles like to play tricks with me by putting two separate containers one next to the other with one called flat mushrooms and the other called Portobello Mushroom

    • Aren't flat mushrooms just white flat mushrooms larger than cups and portobello brown mushrooms? Like large flat swiss browns?

"Flats" are usually just normal white mushrooms at the last stage of development - in the first stage (when they are very small) they are called champignons, then when a little bigger (but the top of the mushroom is still closed so you can't see the brown "gills" underneath) they are referred to as buttons (these first two stages have the longest shelf-life). If left unpicked they develop into "cup" mushrooms (where they are partially open), and then once they open out fully, they're referred to as "flats" and this is when they have the most flavour (but also the shortest shelf-life by this time). Portobello mushrooms are a different variety, often known as Swiss Brown (or at least that was the case when I was working on a mushroom farm for several years), and are usually brown from the start rather than white - you could however have flats that were also the Portobello variety if they have reached that stage of development.

  • The Sign is back to $10.98, sorry for all the "bad trips" man

    • Those who got this deal should plant them in the backyard and sell after they multiplied, good profit

    • So the deal is expired?

  • This is a surprisingly popular deal

  • i love shrooms

There live a flock of population who are willing to pay $2 million for an average house, but reluctant to buy regularly priced vegis and meat. Would be surprised if this deal can last a little bit long.

I would have bought a lot more but by the time I filled my bag, there wasn't mushroom for more!
