        • @unity1:

I would imagine so, especially with the in store 10% discount

        • @unity1: Which T&C are you referring to that says it can be done?

        • @fredblogs:

Can the recipient convert their egift card to a gift card.

          Answer NO.

        • @snuke: That is a very recent addition ( within the last week ) in the FAQ section. The individual T&Cs have not been updated to say otherwise.

If you look at this question it mentions it's only the Essentials Card & Groceries Only Card that can't be used to purchase gift cards or egift cards.

This is reinforced in the "Essentials Card and Groceries Only Card Terms and Conditions" where under clause 4.5 it states: "Cards cannot be used to purchase WISH Gift Cards" and clause 4.6 where it states: "In addition, you cannot use your Card to purchase alcohol, tobacco products or Gift Cards"

Those clauses do not appear in the T&Cs for the Wish Card or the Store egift Card, so it seems to contradict what's written in the FAQs. At the end of the day, you are agreeing to the T&Cs, not the FAQs.

        • @unity1:

          Yep

        • +1

@unity1: I don't know if I am being very selective with my interpretation, but I imagine the meaning could be simply you can't change your mind and "refund" your eGC and have it changed over to the physical GC online.

I don't think anything in-store is being changed, i.e. I would imagine you can still put it through the POS system without an issue.

        • @Spackbace:

Well I had no trouble exchanging my egift cards tonight

      • im still waiting for my groupon gift cards :@

  • Thanks op, only one time I remember cashrewards, it's not applicable!

  • Thanks, this is awesome!

  • +2

Sweet. Just received a $20 off $100 discount code from Woolworths. (SHOPPING20 which sounds pretty generic)
Bugger code expires 20th and GC will be emailed 23rd. Ive already purchased the scoopon

    • +2

well, almost in same boat as me. but lucky i decided not to buy this scoopon. having this kind of card somehow gives me an urge to spend more knowing i already 'paid/spent' my money in advance

    • +1

code doesn't work for me… perhaps you need to be a first time customer to use it?

  • Thanks Op.

  • +1

Why does everyone get so excited about Wish cards? Am I missing something here? :o

    • +1

some people know they gonna use it no matter what to buy groceries (lucky i'm not 'loyal' to only one brand).
others will try their luck with 'giftception'

      • The problem seems to be, that if you don't play the retailer's mind games, you end up paying at the till to subsidise others who do.
Retailer good will died in the 80's or 90's I think. Telstra lead the way.

        • like i told you i don't stick with one retailer:)
that's why i joined this ozbargain

    • +5

Do you live with parents? If you buy groceries every week it's useful.

    • +5

Just means you get an additional 10% off your everyday spend. You buy items on special from Woolies as you would, and get another 10% off. You buy petrol with your 4 cents discount docket from Woolies Station as you would, and get another 10% off.

    • +10

Who does not like 10% off everything? Groceries, Food, Alcohol. Those 10% are on top of any half-price special or other promotions making them even better.

    • Ahhh that makes sense. I don't live with my parents but I can see the appeal. But I mostly shop at Costco/Coles unfortunately.

      • you should try the local 'wet' market. it's cheaper.
nqr in vic is another one of the good example for cheapy items

  • 5 here. Buy more tomorrow at Big W as soon as someone confirms you can use it to buy Wish cards. Cheers.

  • +1

Wish gift card is the best, you can even use it at Dicksmith :) I could not even use Dicksmith Gift card with $200 iTunes deal so I have to buy Wish gift card to use with that deal.

    • now waiting to see if ds will have more r7 or p8 in stock…

  • -1

    Use at DM. Sounds good.

Haven't done this or used one of these before, but can you use the egiftcard when buying from DM online….
    For buying click and collect?

Then get the cash rewards from your purchase there??

    • +1

Yes you can. Had a $72 order last week, got $3.60 off with Wish(5% at CR) and $4.50ish cashback.

    • +1

took me awhile, I kept on thinking dm = dick mith

  • +1

I've just ordered 4 X $100 WISH egift cards with 4 different email addresses.

    • 5 here but thinking of more

  • Thnx

  • Can we buy other retailer's gift card with this???

    • YES YOU CAN

  • bought one. Does it tell you how much is left after transacting?

  • Doesn't seem like very much, But do think about it, you save
    $100 from $1000
    $1000 from $10.000
    And a whooping $10.000 from $100.000

    • +1

You must have a Job that pays well.

10% is not big of a deal? How much is in your savings account? Is it getting 3% interest?

    • +4

10% is a huge "double digit" saving. Ozbargainers are happy with 1%.

    • +3

Ozbargainers think of the discount like this: I'll buy fuel at the lowest point at the discount cycle, or buy items I need that are discounted to half price, and then chop another 10% off that. It literally is free money for a tiny bit of work.

As others have stated, you need to keep money in your mortgage for over 2 years to earn a 10% return. This is instant.

      • +1

Agreed. This instant saving is better than keeping money in the mortgage for over 2 years as the saving itself would save interest over the course of 2 years.

    • And a whooping $10.000 from $100.000..

Nice.. just need to create 1,000 different email accounts.

  • Can you buy even if you don't have a visa card?

    • +1

Ive heard VISA checkout will accept other cards, it is just like paypal but a different form of payment system, like Android Pay and Apple Pay

    • Yes you can. I have mastercard registered in visa checkout.

  • Check your bank balance. I've been double charged :(.

  • ordered, thanks

  • I'm confused guys. So should i wait tomorrow to stack with the 10% off BIg W gift card?

Also seems like it's unlimited buys / account? there is no 1 / account limit

    • You cant use the big w gc to buy this. Better buy it now.

  • I thought someone would have asked this - but don't see it. Just to confirm this can be used over multiple transactions, right?

    • +2

Yeah like a normal gift card :)

  • +1

Does anyone have the Citibank Visa debit card working for Visa checkout?
Getting this error when trying to add the card:
"Sorry, one or more of your entries seems to be invalid at this time. Please correct or try entering a different card."

    • +1

Yep, but it was a typo

  • +9

LPT: If you have a gmail account and want to create multiple scoopon accounts, you can use the same e-mail by adding the + suffix.

E.G if your e-mail address is [email protected]. you can register again with [email protected] and it will send the e-mail to [email protected]
You can put whatever you want after the + sign, it won't matter.

  • Do I have to use the entire egift card in one hit?

    • +2

      no

    • +2

50cent's bankruptcy really hitting hard. So much so that 50cent is now looking into using eGift cards!!

      • At least he'll save alot more than 50c

  • confusion, went in to pay and set up a Visa account, then finished that bit and thought it said it will pay Scoupon? here is my confusion as you are only allowed to have one card per account I went back to the Scoupon page and clicked this is a gift and completed the details there and thought no point as it will not let me as I just purchased the offer. But it does, so here is my question. Does that mean I can purchase two one as a gift and one for me. Or does it mean the payment did not go through from the Visa page and I need to go back to Scoupon to pay?

  • i guess the code VISA10 wont work any more with visa me? any others i can use? can anyone confirm if any cashback websites will work like pricepal? if not better off getting a gift card at big w and paying with ing 2% or citibank 3% paywave to get some cash back? then use bigw card to buy a wish card to use for petrol and food.

    • i guess the code VISA10 wont work any more with visa me? any others i can use?

      Nope, all expired

can anyone confirm if any cashback websites will work like pricepal?

Has been covered in previous comments, no they never cover gift card purchases

if not better off getting a gift card at big w and paying with ing 2% or citibank 3% paywave to get some cash back? then use bigw card to buy a wish card to use for petrol and food.

You can try your luck, but this relies on a person to OK the purchase, and it's likely they'll crack down on gift cards bought with gift cards during the 10% sale

  • arrgh, no Visa card anymore, got rid of last one some time ago and only have AMEX and Mastercards now

    • +2

You can use a mastercard in the visa checkout platform. Just Amex won't work (at scoopon). Visa Checkout is like paypal.

      • Thanks for that info!

  • -2

Cash rewards seemed to work for me - have $2.90 pending in my account for $90 spend at Scoopon…

    • Um, why the negs? Am I missing something?

      • +1

I think you're missing some positives..

but to answer your question, no - don't know why you've been negged, but it's likely that $2.90 will be "rejected" when they go through and verify all their transactions.

  • +1

Someone has confirmed that the 10% off Big W cards work at Woolies, so that is another option for people.

    • got a link? Because I've seen reports that it doesn't, and I can confirm that the 7.5% Big W cards do not work at Woolworths.

        • Well that would've been a lot easier than buying lots of these cards!

      • @fredblogs:

Those are eGift card, and it clearly says that on the email you got
" 2. This eGift Card is redeemable at BIG W stores only."

You can however buy a physical gift card with it and use that anywhere. Well at least you should be able to, and I will be trying to do that tonight as I do every week or two with the Woolworths eGift cards.

        • You convert Woolworths eGift cards into physical cards? Why is that - since you can use the Woolworths eGift cards anywhere?

        • @fredblogs:

Ease of use, still use it everywhere.

        • +1

@snuke: You find it easier with a physical GC than eGC?

        • @fredblogs:

Some Woolworths Caltex petrol stations only accept physical gift cards. These usually have a Star Mart as the store.

        • @illumination:
Yeah, physical card in wallet like all other cards, as opposed to keeping ecard numbers in my phones notes. The only advantage with the note way is that I keep the running value updated. Pity their stupid app doesn't show the pin and number, I would just use that.

        • @snuke: I might do that actually, got a few eGC's and want to combine them into 1.

        • +1

@snuke: Hmm ok fair enough. I wish I could convert all of my GCs to eGCs. I much prefer it and there isn't much of a concern in terms of losing it. As you mentioned, keeping the running value updated is great too.
I also like how you can share it with other people very easily, as opposed to a physical GC where you actually need to physically hand it over. Good example is your friend/cousin/wife/brother might be buying something in Perth at Woolies, they can use the same eGC as you over in Sydney, without needing to physically hand over anything.

        • @fredblogs:
Usually it is physical card for the wife, and details in Notes for me, but right now I also have physical card. It all depends on my mood and where Cancer is in relation to Venus.

  • +1

After I signed up and paid with visacheck out, I got 2 transaction for 1.39 from Visacheck out.

The description says "Forster City CA". Does anyone has this problem?

    • +1

It will be refunded. It is just to verify the card details are legit before they authorise bigger transactions.

      • Thanks mate.

  • +2

Well thanks to this deal I am now proud owner of 10 scoopon accounts

    • +1

Don't forget to unsubscribe to the 10 spam emails you'll get each day

  • So…. Has it confirmed yet weather or not you can use these to buy the 10% off big w gift cards in store?

    • read this page and you shall find the answer.

    • FAQ suggested not, TS&Cs OTOH (yet to be updated) have been flouted by Big W cashiers in the physical card topic. There appears no single answer

With what they did with minimum spend incentives, Coles may be be where I'll go for buying recharges, woolworths for Specials expenditures.

  • Thanks just bought three, very good for fuel refill.

  • +1

i just got charged $90 to my credit card, as well as another $1.39 pending, which I presume is $1 US as a "test" charge ? ( I hope this drops off my credit card bill, or else the savings are not as advertised :( )

    • +1

The $1.39 is just to verify the card, it's removed soon.

    • seriously, i wonder if people even read the threads… must be on their mobile device.
