I wonder why it wouldn't be on the 24th or something… It doesn't make sense for them to place it out so long, unless the intention is that people will forget about it.

How is this hopelessly insecure? Email is in clear text, but clear text is only an issue if someone can man in the middle it. Generally people man in the middle for strings which are 16 digits long starting for a 3,4 or 5. I would not say hopelessly insecure, but yes it could be better.
if i was writing malware i'd scan peoples' inboxes for giftcard links …
The numbers are too small, if it was some one like Target in USA or something, I would agree. But creating malware for 8 billion + email accounts to target less than 10,000 mail boxes is not worth the time. It would be more financial feasible for a hacker to compromise a website and catch credit card traffic. Your hit rate would be a lot higher.
People can accidentally forward emails as well. Would be better if there was a separate password or SMS needed to use the link.

Meant to be one per person so a year should be more than enough I would think. Just hope they don't start cancelling them because of it and screw everyone around again like what happened with the Groupon deal.

Yeah very confusing. Yhe email stated yhe vouchers expire dec 2017. But the gift voucher mention it expirein 12 months

Physical cards also have 12 month expiry. Makes sense to have a common expiry.

I have purchased 5 of them. Other 4 have been received in other mailboxes but hotmail one is not received yet.
I bought 8 and received none. What should I do? I make queries through help desk online, but it say a team member will deal with it within 2 days.
Stuff-up by Scoopon re the expiry date. ALL gift cards & e-gift cards issued by the Woolworths group have 12 months expiry on them. In comparison, gift cards issued by the Coles Myer group have 24 months expiry.

I got all 5 of mine today and have already bought physical wish cards with them from woolworths. Tomorrow I'll try my luck with converting some of them to Big W cards for a further 10% saving.

When buying the wish cards the checkout operator had to activate the cards for me. From what I've read on here it's the same when buying the big w cards. You can go through the self-checkout but a staff member will have to assist you.

For those confused about the expiry date, I spoke to Scoopon and they said it was a mistake on their part:
"I'm pleased to advise that your Gift Card is valid for two years as advertised - please disregard the '12 months from issue date'."
Its actually Woolworths not Scoopon who printed the "12 months from issue date" on the actual e-giftcards.
A statement from WW would be more reassuring.
