  • havent I seen this Virtual blade "deal" many times over the last month?

    • yeah it's some dude doing his advertising here.

      • they create rolling "specials" so they are allowed to post on here. don't know why though, seems to attract very little interest looking at the past deals, only one deal actually had anyone bother voting on it.

        • it is different packages every time though.

  • actually my bad.. i think we should report as spam, and stop commenting.
commenting here will bring them closer to 1st page results on google..

  • Hi Guys,

Comments are always welcomed as they allow us to improve; but I must say I'm concerned that you think we're spamming here… when it's truely not our intent.

We indeed have one special per week, often (not always) advertised on here. Those Specials are VERY different each time.

The reason why we advertise them on here is purely because they are always low price offers (not to use the word "bargain" :) ), which despite having no votes, generates interest, as several OzB readers have already chosen to take a VPS with us.

Please PM me if you believe I’m infringing any OzB rule.

    Cheers

  • Hi Mark.
Appreciate your well versed response and politeness.
I'm sure there are people interested in getting blades, but they're probably the minority here. Also pricewise you seem to be on the mark for these types of services, and not a bargain.
You did get customers from here, so I believe advertising here has worked for you.
The problem is I see it more as advertising than a bargain.

In summary, I don't think you're infringing any rules, but I believe ozbargain should be a little bit tighter with these deals.
Sorry, just my honest opinion :-(

  • Hi elcheapoinoz

There are numerous things one should factor in when looking for a VPS. Are they based in America or in Australia ? How redundant is there infrastructure? Data centre, systems and support are also things to consider. Many entry level VPSs will not come with a 24/7 support like ours has…
In consideration of the service you get, pricewise, the offer is a fair bargain.

As you would expect, I am sad to see you voted the deal down. I understand that if one is not very "IT aware" , one may have little interest in the deal and may even see that as "advertising" when it's not. However not everybody sees it that way…
The post is aimed those bargain hunters interested in VPS and is not meant to annoy those who are not.

Your concerns about the increase in spam on OzB are very valid, but not all "reps" are "advertising"…

To make sure that people don't think we're advertising when we're not, I hope you’ll be pleased to hear that going forward, you should expect to see very short posts going straight to the point… and nothing else: no extra wording that could be misinterpreted.

(my apologies for the long answer :P)

    Cheers,
    Mark
