Sony Xperia Z5C $698 Au Stock - MobileCiti eBay

150
CHRISTMAS10

It's only ~$90 more for the Z5C than the previous CWEDDING20 deal but you get local stock. Worth IMO as I've had bad experience with grey imports dying right after warranty period. You can even go back to qd_au to get it for even cheaper now at $575.10 after discount.

MobileCiti are also selling Z5 for $803 after discount:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-Xperia-Z5-E6653-4G-LTE-32GB-…

I couldn't see any Z5P Au stock for sale but plenty of sub $1000 grey stock. Taking off 10%, you can get a grey for high $800s.

Need a case to go with it? You can go to the Sony Store and use the gibberish $30 off coupon for an official case which will set you back $39. See the comments in https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/224828. I ended up getting one coz I only ever found decent Z1C accessories in Japan.

And remember to use cashrewards for 3.3% cashback.

I treated my z3 like my firstborn,

Found a hairline crack running the length of the back of it,

never again will i buy sony.

but pretty sure your first born will have a crack at the back as well

crack = user fault, stop complaint

NO - the Xperieas had a well known spontaneous cracking issue.

Although that issue was the front of the phones not back.

        • My wife's Z2 phone gets dropped all the time yet has not cracked at all. My Z2 tablet I dropped it a foot onto the floor whilst in its official case and the screen cracked first time (day one) Sony replaced it free of charge. New one I've had for one year now and it's great.

@Where's_That_Cake: My Z3 compact got a spiderweb crack all over the back just sitting on my table before I had even put the sim card in let alone using it day to day.

They charged me for the replacement but after the replacement it has been in my pocket each day and bumped around and has been totally fine. I think the first batch was shoddy as there were quite a lot of people having the same issue in the first few weeks.

          @Where's_That_Cake:

The cracks are believed to be due to heat or pressure, not physical damage. This has been a rumoured issue of the Xperia series for a long time.

      Poor kid.

    • Go online to witrigs and get a new back for like $10, hair dryer over the back, pry off the existing back, stick down new back. Problem solved.

And you lose the water and dust resistant feature. Which you will not get back with those cheap sticky stuff they give you.

3rd glass Sony phone, multiple drops w/case, no cracks yet

  • Might want to put free standard delivery in title…

  • Went with the LG G4 instead, but this is a great price

  • Owned this phone for about 2 months now. When I'm playing music (via Sony Music app) and have two or more apps open (Usually Facebook and WhatsApp), phone becomes very slow and sometimes it turns itself off and reboots itself. The camera app or snapchat app takes forever to launch, even when I have no apps running at the same time. Not sure if I got a dodgy one or not. Waiting for Marshmallow update to fix this… hopefully.

    • A full reset might fix it too.

  • It's called a screen protector- don't go out without one. I've bought glass screen protectors from day on on my Z2 and have had 0 issues, they're worth the trouble people!

    • Same!

When I see a screen protector I giggle inside - why spend a thousand on a phone and suffer for years/months when after a month it looks like crap due to it.

Glass ones cause barcode scanning not to work, reduce brightness and clarity and some cause your fingers to not glide as per the normal glass.

Plastic ones aren't even worth discussing.

when I see a cracked screen I giggle outside, why spend a thousand on a phone and not protect the touch display.

Glass ones cause you to avoid the hassle of paying hefty repair fees and causes you greater piece of mind.

Plastic ones are as costly as a bag of chips and can prevent scratches.

Am I doing it right? Seriously though different people different priorities etc.

        • Because the manufacturer spent tons of money on R&D and a lot of the value is the aesthetics. They make a big deal of the display being closer to the glass every breakthrough and things like glove mode working correctly.

I have a small circular scratch on my Note 4 and that's the only one. It's not even the glass of the display. I even sometimes have keys in the same pocket as my phone. It's just not a worry, at all.

        • @auna: yeah but my points still stand. My nexus 7 is probably my only device w/o screen protector and still obtained a few scratches over the years with only usage at uni and home (and thats with a magnetic case haha). Glass screens ain't going to be scratchproof when it comes to the rare things like sand scratching it. Also its not like those companies don't profit from repairs caused by damage not covered from warranty (not the case for all of them e.g.. HTC and Huawei I think have the 1 screen replace thing)

        • Some very minor consequences for piece of mind imo. Do what you want when it comes to protecting your phone but I think it's a little stupid that they'll drop a phone and blame the manufacturer for a break in the glass. Phones aren't made to withstand drops and you're the one who dropped it!

      • Dunno, the only places I have issues with barcode scanners, they have issues with scanning anyone's phone. Mine works fine at the new scanners at Coles that are on the customer side near the eftpos machine, for example.
I do only buy 2.5D glass protectors and not just whatever's the cheapest.

  • it's <$600 @eGlobal

    • Not AU Stock
