  • Good idea, a convenient way to add USB ports to existing powerpoint. And it has a holder. Simple idea, yet very useful.

But it sounds like everyone just wants more USB ports on this device. I agree. 2 on each side, and it will receive a lot less criticism. If you can fit that into a 20-25 dollar product, and a lot of people including myself will buy a few for our houses.

    All the best.

  • The only problem I see with this is there are only two USB outlets. Four per side would be more useful. The little info video shows stacks of USB devices needing to be plugged in, but only plugs in two. We need at least four for our family.

  • I know people are complaining about the price. So I thought it relevant to mention that a single Apple wall charger is $29 and that's excluding the cable.

I bought one anyway for the kitchen. Sick of having to unplug the coffee machine to put in a charger all the time.

Hopefully the next version will have a couple more ports. Four would be nice.

An annoying problem I see is that if you try to unplug or even just accidentally pull on a cable plugged into the unit, the whole unit will come away from the wall and any phones/tables sitting in the slots will come crashing down.
I admire the entrepreneurial spirit though.
EDIT maybe you should provide an adjustable plastic set of prongs on the other side for extra stability (they only need to move in the x direction)?

Congrats on selling them all OP!

  • I still dont understand what this the purpose of this is?

It's turning 2 Existing Sockets into 2 new Sockets with added 2x USB outlets.
We're effectively paying $30-$40 to have 2 USB ports with a small cradle. I can get a 7-port USB hub for $22

As stated earlier, the video shows 8-10 cluttered devices connected to power-boards, yet your 2-socket adapter replaces them all, how?

    • Normally a "Hub" doesn't provide power which I feel is the point of this device.

      • a hub certainly does provide power although usually not higher current like this (will slow charge).

    • It's turning 2 Existing Sockets into 2 new Sockets with added 2x USB outlets.

      That's right!

      I can get a 7-port USB hub for $22

Trying to split a single charger into 7 ports means your devices will take 7 times longer to charge if you use them all.
      It's also messy.

What a legend! Good luck with your Kickstarter and please ignore the negative comments.
You saw a gap in the market, and decided to create a product to fill it - which is something to be very proud of.

  • Hi guys, have people been receiving Plug Hub deliveries? Feedback?

    thanks

    • apparently the courier can't find my house.
How hard is it to use google? :/

      • Same issue, although to be fair, they are hardly the first, although things have otherwise been fairly good the last few years since I guess now my place shows up on even a 5 year old GPS. Always been on Google though. Remember rears ago when they were having trouble, package eventually came with a Google maps printout stuck to the side with my place highlighted.

Anyway, got it now and for those worrying about no off switch. It reads as 0.0W with nothing plugged in here. So fair to say that over a year, you are looking at maybe 0.33kWh's of wasted power from the USB ports. Waste from the AC sockets on the other hand would depend on what you have plugged in (anything new should be <1W when off).

Showed around 11W with a ~35% charged phone plugged in.

In terms of issues with yanking plugs out; it has an adhesive pad on the rear. Although that would have a negative impact on the temporary/portable nature of the product.

The part that covers the GPO is removable, so it could be put over slim and other non standard outlets. Especially if new rear shrouds were available.

The top device tray is removable and it comes with a double and deeper single tray. Just slots on though without any kind of clip. Could use a bit of doublesided tape I guess to properly secure it.
