Scoot 20% off Selected Fares to Singapore

FLYSCOOT

Hi there,
Was sitting back on the lounge flicking through channels (as you do on a rainy day) and on Foxtels Aurora, they were airing some travel show called Eat, Play and Stay. Right at the end of an episode featuring Pattaya Thailand, they flashed up a deal with Scoot for 20% off selected flights to SIN.

So me being the sceptic I am, I jumped on the laptop and entered dummy dates.
Low and behold, it accepted the promo code and deducted an amount from the fare.
See screenshot here that shows discount has been applied http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2m6sumo&s=9#.VmKhUeLWLzg

I couldn't find a link so best I could do was take a photo of the TV.
All I know is that the promo is valid for new bookings made until 31/12/15 for travel until March 2016.

    Had few tries:
    Internal Server Error
    Sorry, but something went wrong!
We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly

    • Worked for me, several mates, my mum and a stack of people here on this thread.
      Try a different browser?

  • Works! $370 return to Singapore :)

    • Whats are dates?

      • Mid Feb

  • Doh, booked my flights with them 2 days ago :( dammit !

  • Appears to be working for flights well beyond the supposed dates of March 2016. Cheers.

  • Works for April 2016 too! $373 return from sydney

  • Yeah, not bad. AU$270 odd for PER - SGN return in early Feb.
The fares are super cheap - its all the taxes and surcharges that push the price.
Can anyone tell me why airlines continue to levy a fuel surcharge with global oil prices plunging to historic depths?

    • To make money? Doesn't make sense compared to oil prices, but certainly makes sense from a business point of view..

    • Could be fuel hedging, which is like the fixed interest rates of jet fuel. The airline contracts for fuel months or years into the future when it thinks prices are low. Then prices drop even further, but the airline still needs to pay the contracted rate for the next 18 months, even if it's double the current price.

  • Thanks OP - worked but curiously applied the coupon and got -$44.00 from $830 odd, closer to 5% - still OK if you need to travel to SIN

    • You're welcome. Easy answer. The 20% discount only comes off the fare component. Not the taxes/fees.

  • working on fares till Oct 29.

helps to bring the cost of their fake business class down to an acceptable price of $420 out of Sydney.

  • Where's best to go to from Singapore? Have been to the main city a number of times and want to go further… Malaysia is the obvious one!

Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei all pretty close & cheap to get to.

      AirAsia fly out of KL.

    • Europe.

Best bet is to get yourself a one-way ticket to Singapore and then take advantage of the Etihad deal to get you from Singapore to Europe and back home to Syd/Mel/Per/Bri via Dublin from $700. Deal's been posted many times on here (www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143752 www.ozbargain.com.au/node/130574)

I just booked this one to Venice with a 2.5 day layover in Abu Dhabi on the return in peak season for $720 two days ago; www.kayak.com.au/flights/SIN-VCE,nearby/2016-06-17/DUB-AUH/2…

    • Indonesia is also nearby - earlier this year I spent a couple of nights in Batam, which is about an hour away by ferry. It's definitely a resort town with many things aimed squarely at tourists, but it's still a very different experience from either Singapore or Malaysia, and it's quite cheap.

    • stick to ladydudes and you gonna be fine

    • LOL

How can we be sure you're a man?

  • I booked a flight from Singapore to gold coast yesterday and used code Amex30 and got 30% discount which really worked out to be about 16% on total fare. It says it's for Amex payment but my Citibank debit card worked fine.

Fair warning, skoot charges for everything, you get 1 cup of water free, want more water? Costs 4$ . Want a blanket? 15$. They have a unique way to get business class(other than paying directly), you bid for it, my dad bid 260$ to get his upgrade. But he still didn't get a free blanket

they are a budget carrier , want full service then pay double and fly one of the majors

    • I'm happy to carry my own water and snacks for flying under $400 return to Singapore. Better than paying $400+ to fly to Melbourne and back and still only get a cup of water and some crumbly biscuits on the local carriers :)

    • Yea sounds like you've never flown a budget carrier other than Scoot from the sounds of things.. it's very normal.

  • looks like I got myself a good deal about a month ago on Jetstar.

Paid $500 for 2 return tickets from PER to SIN, all up for Feb.

  • i tried and didn't apply to my flight to singapore which was the expensive flight ($860)

return was applied ($260-20%) - didn't go down much..
