  • good deal but its middle of the week.9th Dec - Wednesday… not worth to spend 2 to 3 hours

  • Do they have manual transmissions?that way I can get the kids to start practicing

Dont waste the salespersons time for no reason!

These people are paid on commission, and you wasting their time to score a $50 fuel card could cost them a lot more!

Be upfront about why you're there and they might give it to you without you getting behind the wheel.

Neg for a 'deal' which is only going to cause wasting someone's time and having them lose money from their own pocket. It's not the major company you're affecting here, it's the guy at the front line.

    • They're paid a base wage.
      Illegal to work for nil.

      • -5

        And?

Base wage is lower than a maccas worker for a lot of them

        • at least they have work. It can be quite hard finding work these days

        • -2

and it goes to discredit what you've said, or alluded towards, as these salesmen don't work upon commission alone,a s you're trying to convince people.
Typical salesman technique, obfuscate the matter at hand in hope that the person resigns and gives in.
Take your tacky trade elsewhere please.

        • -1

          @086:

          Tacky trade? Wow, just wow…

Keep giving yourself all the excuses you feel the need to waste someone's time and money over $50.

        • @Spackbace:
Indeed, as there are those that practice their trade ethically, such as Western Toyota staff, and those like you and Noble Toyota!

        • @086:

I'm sorry, how have I been unethical?

        • @Spackbace: Wow, you require someone to explain it to you ?
          Just wow!

wasting someone's time and having them lose money from their own pocket

The $50 voucher is funded from JEEP and not the dealer. The event has been going on at different Jeep dealerships in November

And your not really wasting their time. From all those test drives, if one or two buy a car then its a win for the rep

      • -4

The $50 voucher is funded from JEEP and not the dealer.

As I already said, the salesman doesn't care who funds the gift card, he cares about the time he wastes with a tyre kicker instead of the legitimate client that he missed out on.

        They're not a taxi service.

        • -3

are you a sales person because it look like this deal pissed you off

        • +1

          @easternculture:

          He sells Suzuki's in WA

        • +2

          @easternculture:

As above, I've already posted a deal before and I don't hide my associations.
Of course it hit a nerve, because I know exactly what you're trying to promote. Might be all well and good to get a fuel card for little effort, but people need to realise the repercussions.

        • -2

          @TightBottom:

Jeep vs Suzuki … now it all adds up

        • @easternculture:

Yep, because we totally have competing models
          Lol

        • @Spackbace:

          haha lol

        • @TightBottom:

          You mean Suzukis.

        • @Spackbace:

Yep, because we totally have competing models

All New Vitara vs. Jeep Compass or Patriot???

        • @KaptnKaos:

          You mean Suzukis.

Probably, English is not my first language.

        • @TightBottom:

Nah, new Vitara is more vs Trax & CX3

        • @Spackbace:

Only a 5 speed manual tranny? Brochure pics look like a six speed or is this a case of *overseas model shown

Rather than knock those that are considering taking up the deal that offered why don't you go after the company that's offering it?

This isn't going to hurt the salespersons pocket as they're paid a wage to be there, the promotion is to entice more potential customers through the door and once they're there a good product and salesperson will move the product.

      • -3

Obviously I have no issues with people taking this offer up on the basis they're even considering buying a car.

I have issue with those that just purely want the fuel card, and that's the audience EC is aiming at.

Dont waste the salespersons time for no reason!

More to the point, don't waste your own time… https://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/952865…

    • Yeah I think Jeep needs all the positive exposure it can get.

Even if people are there only for the fuel card, surely they will tell their friends about the offer who may be looking for a car.

Word of Mouth is great for the car industry as you can't beat a mates recommendation.

  • For those that really think this is a deal and wanna waste someone's time over $50, go here instead:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/213293

Chances are you'll win a $100 fuel card with even less effort. And no innocent party has their time wasted! :)

  • +4

Please don't waste the car salespersons time. They are renowned for being very honest heart felt people who never take advantage of people:)

    • Ok, we'll just forget they have families, bills to pay etc.
No no, we'll rort them as much as we can

      sigh

      • Everyone has bills to pay, guess what sometimes my work runs a certain promotion that I don't like I still do it because that's what I'm paid to do.

You aren't paid on commission alone, you get a base wage so stop complaining. The car salespeople are paid to be at work.

      • +1

I was only having a laugh Spackbace. I'm not suggesting to rort them at all. Tongue and cheek:)

  • How do you get the fuel $50 voucher? do we just turn up or sign up ourselves to the event? because nothing mention about the bonus voucher in writing and I (we) did not receive an email from them

    • +2

How do you get the fuel $50 voucher?

      1. Turn up to dealership
      2. Look interested
      3. Test drive vehicle
      4. Decline offer of a coffee on return to dealership
      5. Advise that you are now off to test drive a Suzuki in WA
      6. Kindly request $50 petrol card as WA is 4000km away
      7. Drop into the window tint/paint protection office and do a fluff
      8. Leave dealership (don't drive to WA)

        3.1

Do some UBER driving while on "Test Drive" to make some extra $$$'s.

Look constantly @ Mobile when on "Test Drive" to accept UBER fares.

Say to Salesperson "Hey, do you mind if I gives my pick-up my friend/s and give them a lift and ask them what they think of the vehicle?"

Do as much UBER work on "Test Drive" as time permits.

        • 3.1.1 Sell petrol voucher on ebay for $40 to part cover $900 fine for driving a hire car without licence or registration
