I don't think I've used a game guide since King's Quest V.
The interwebs just makes things way too easy to get the info now to have much point in buying guide books.
Back in the days had to a)figure it out ourselves; b)ask about it through others; c)wait for the stuff to get published in one of them magazines and read it at the newsagents.

Wow. Why would people pay for free internet content? Has no one heard of gamefaqs?
For newer games it takes time for GFaqs to catch up. Some like a visual guide. With official guides, the author gets access to the game months before it releases. GF writers don't get their game until it releases, so it takes time before you get anything, and more time for it to get updated into something complete.
Just to clarify something before someone goes on and purchases a Prima EGuide. The EGuides can only be viewed online after you've logged in on the Prima website. The EGuide loads in the browser. It is NOT downloadable as a PDF or any other format for offline reading.

Their e-guides are total crap. They aren't pdfs with the same attractive layout as the printed guide. They are just web sites with simple design, looking no better than an IGN wiki or some other free resource.
