I'd say that's the intended market. And the $20 cash back expires at Christmas. Still a good deal, but optical image stabilisation is very handy.
I thought ahead & bought a few $3.75 Cannons as Christmas presents ;-)

Hope you're lucky. That $109 Canon was $59 at Boxing Day sale at Kmart, fell to $39, then to $25 - less $20 cashback. May not be same this year of course.

No it's an old time plate camera on a wooden tripod - so every one must stand very still for the cameraman…

The lesser $109RRP Ixus 145 was $3.75 after cashback etc - left over from Boxing Day sale earlier this year. The similar Digital Image Stabilisation on that model was not good!
Based on that deal, these may be cheaper after Christmas in sales. But this cash back is on purchases before Christmas.
