TGG have the Red version for $249 at the moment, so $169 seems a good price.

Can recommend these units.
Quite basic compared to many coffee makers available ( its totally manual ), but its very reliable and long lived.
I have purchased two Icona units in the past … the second is still operational, but i so like the design i'm buying yet another as a spare, just to hedge against eventual breakdown.I'm a coffee addict ..I totally can it to ridiculous levels … and my first Icona most likely broke down due to it never being turned off even when the water reservoir and internal tank were empty, and possibly the fact i was also a bit overzealous with citric cleaner.
The Portafilter is a variation on a "Pressurised Basket" with a central heat-tolerant ( bakelite ?) valve hidden under the metal basket.
— When the micro-holes do clog up, i find the best way to clean is to burn/singe/destroy the fine particles of coffee with a high-powered butane flame. This method will discolour the metal finish of the basket slightly .. but its almost instantaneous, with very little effort involved.
I've got a similar unit.. the only problem I find is the frother is not the best.
similar unit, or same model ?
I don't use the frother myself (prefer espresso+drop of milk.. and only ever use the frother for guests wanting a cappuccino).
Iconia model seems fine as long as you start with really cold milk ideally in a pre-chilled pourer mug/cup.
I keep my milk frother mug in the freezer ;)very similar unit- the only difference is mine is the vintage version. (same characteristics, different finish)

I will chill my milk frother jug and try that over the weekend to see whether it makes any difference.
This will come in handy with that Lavazza coffee was on sale few days ago.
