  • does amex take into account the shipping? For example, would this deal count for $84.99 of the $90 and is ot flat rate shipping on your site?

    • nm
$10 Flat Rate per order and FREE SHIPPING for orders over $89 (Inc GST). Gift Cards ship for free using standard post.

      • Hi,

Yes Amex does include the shipping cost in your total order to make it up to $90.

House online offers free shipping on all orders over $89 and shipping is $10 for orders under $89.

    • I've had these for 3+ years. I don't know much about knives but my wife and I are happy with them. Only recently have I bought something to get them sharp again.

  • are these not similar to kmart/target knives?

    • Hi,

These knives are high quality German steel and come with Baccarat's Lifetime Guarantee.

      • But it says Japanese steel in there.

  • Good luck actually buying anything on their site at the moment, we've been trying for an hour now to get an order through!

    • Hi,

Baccarat offers a lifetime warranty if you do come across any issues.

      • How do I split payments using three cards ?

      • How does the warranty work? with you or baccarat directly?

    • Interesting how the 3 reviews on the house website are all 5 star, but a quick Google reveals under 2 stars on other sites

  • Buying this as well to avoid paying for shipping: https://www.house.com.au/product/baccarat-sabre-knife-set-6-…

Hopefully they don't fall apart like they do in the reviews

    • Awkward - rep I'm getting this error: "Card Name is not an acceptable card type."

      Edit - all good

      • How did you fix this? I'm getting the same error when trying to pay with Amex

        • When paying, don't click on on the Visa, Amex or Mastercard icons

  • I purchased this set about a year ago (give or take). The plastic handles of at least 3 of them have cracked (and not due to a dishwasher (which is apparently worse (according to reviews))). Plus they're quite angular and not particularly comfortable.

The steel seems good tho. So it keeps an edge nicely, & rusts if you leave it moist for too long.

Edit: House is one of those stores which always has massive "SALE!!" signs. $99 is the regular price; don't believe anything otherwise. 25% off is, of course, better…

Edit2: Reading properly… $55 delivered is much better. But, as stated, if you care about cracks in handles be prepared for a war of attrition with warranty department.

Thanks. I got a Contigo travel mug, decanter, funnel and some whisky glasses. Used the $30 Amex deal, plus it turns out it is a Shop Small place too. So I'm getting another $10 back from Amex.

    RRP $189.88
    On sale for $126.83
    After 25% off = $95.12
After PricePal cash back and buddy bonus = $81.42
After Amex statement credits = $41.42 out of pocket

      Good work puffinfresh!

    • Worthy of a gold star Stirling effort on getting deal.

  • Great deals! Thanks OP!

  • Tried last night and this morning to pay with AMEX and website will not allow the Amex card selection, resulting in "Card name is not an acceptable card type" error. Waste of time

    • Hi,

We have just put through an Amex transaction to test it after seeing your comment and it has worked. Please can you try again and see if it works now?

      Thanks

      • rep the cuisinart ice cream maker is no longer viewable on the website - it was there yesterday!!

  • Still can't click on the Amex card type

    • Even tho the text field format is for M/Card, you can just enter your Amex Card as is and it will go thru.

      • Thanks, think I had tried that before (last few time was using the security code on the back of card instead of front - new Amex user) but tried again and worked with the MasterCard setting

  • AMEX offer is no longer avialable i think…
