  • Great modem.. I had ADSL issues with my old router so I got one of these. Current uptime of 47 days… I think I had a power outage then… Hasn't missed a beat. Dualband WIFI is handy as well. Good deal. I think I paid about $160 for mine about 4 months ago @ MSY.

Thanks OP. Price beat at Officeworks Woolloongabba in Brisbane

  • I bought it from EB for the $128 (didn't bother to check OW in the area). It is 1.0? Others have reported there is not much difference between 1.1 and 2.0. Is this as good as 2.0?

  • Tried two Officeworks store but they wouldn't price match because EB are apparently out of stock (they went to the trouble of ringing them).

Some assistance to those using the Archer D7 and transferring to the NBN.
Simple steps to ensure an easy transfer from ADSL to NBN Fibre.
My example is using a TP-Link Archer D7 Modem/ gigabit Router.
    1. Obtain your FIBRE Login details from your ISP.
    2. Plug an Ethernet cable between the UNI-D1 (usually) and the Wan port on the Archer D7.
    3. As your Modem (with Wan port) goes from being a Modem to a digital data Router, you need to login to your Modems menu and select “ Wireless Router” as method of operation, then add your login details given to you by your ISP and probably select PPPoE, and any other extra details supplied by your ISP which they deem necessary.
    4. If all is well you should be instantly connected.
    5. The NBN box (cover off) should be showing a solid green power light, an intermittent green Optical light, and a solid orange UNI-D1 light when in full operating mode.

  • How does this compare to the TD-W8980?

Is it easy to tell if its a V1.1 or V2.0?

Thinking of picking one up tomorrow. Might try an OW price match too.

    Thanks!

    • Nevermind, I bought it anyway. Haha

Thanks OP!! Officeworks Chatswood honoured it. $121.60!

      Very pleased!

  • Thanks OP! Bought it at Brownsplains Officeworks!

  • Thanks OP! Bought it at Glebe OW!

Still cheaper than prices via staticice ($169.00) http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Tp-Link+ARCHER+…

  • It might still be $128 in store.

Went to my Officeworks to price match the $149 was surprised when they called the local EB to confirm the price and they said $128. So ended up getting it for $121.60.
