  • has anyone found the search bar on ebay's promo landing page glitchy or am i doing it wrong?

I tried the keywords "neem oil" and it searches overseas sellers?

    • Yeah, seems if none of the stores in the promotion have the item, it just shows everything on eBay, or if there's too many results (eg "Star Wars") then it doesn't just show the promotional stores.

no deals on nexus phone range

has anyone spotted any Apple Watches in these stores?

  • Watching items vanish right in front of my eyes. The "balance bike" search result list literally halved as I was browsing my way through it. "The seller has ended this listing as the item is no longer available", etc.

  • Was looking at Dyson handstick vaccums. Masters has jacked up the V6 Animal from $499 to $699 and V6 Motorhead from $599 to $799 in the last few days

    • +1

Wow, really? I was looking at these and that seems pretty bad. Shame on you Masters/Big W.

    • +5

They haven't "jacked up" the prices. Those prices were a Dyson promo which ended on the 3rd of November. Almost all retailers have reverted to RRP.

      • +7

Oh okay - still, prices are pretty so so compared to last details.

Also, why on earth was I negged? God this site is weird sometimes.

    • I'm looking to get one of these too. There's that special on at DJ's if you have a store card or a DJ's Amex card…
      30% off RRP. Not bad…

  • Would love advise or posted links of any mobile phones you guys would recommended for a ripper price (under $400)
Mine got stolen over the weekend :(

    • What phone did you have stolen?

  • anyone have use this lawn mover please?

I was thinking of getting a ego 56 volts, however this has 2-Batteries+ Charger.

    Any thoughts?

      YT review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WZ9qU4GqUA

I have an interest in this but will probably hold off until 1. I have a bigger yard to justify the cost and 2. tech gets better and prices go down.

One comment was that the Ego has 4.0Ah compared to Kobalt 2.0Ah and that this would likely mean the Ego battery would last longer. I'm no expert, happy for others to comment further.

      • Both batteries have same running time.

Kobalt has a brush less motor where Ego has brush motor—— that is why ego needs more power.

    • I have Ego mower 100% happy with it so far

      • Does it go sloooooooooooooooooooow when battery is nearly flat?

Is it much better that a petrol one please?

  • +1

It's showing on my Paypal account that I paid full price for the items, anyone has this issue?

Edit: the right amount is debited from my card. Strange.

    • +2

      That's actually normal.

    • +1

20% of the payment is chipped in by ebay so that's why the paypal amount is showing full price. If you dig further it will tell you that. It's not a discount as such for paypal, you just only pay 80% of it, part payment in other words.

  • Many thanks OP, perfect timing for my eBay purchase this morning

  • Lego prices getting jacked up on the new X Wing, toys r us selling the 3 inch version for as much as the full size, hope no one purchases the 3 inch by accident.

  • man that Simplybestprices store has over 6 million items………………..

    • +1

      Does that include zip ties?

    • +5

      Simplybestprices is apparently Fishpond.

I bought a Kylo Ren Force FX Lightsaber from that seller because I need it to complete my costume for the Ep. 7 premiere, and no Aussie stockist will have it before Dec 17. It turned out to be $399 after discount ($350 RRP here, $200 USD) from the eBay scalper but my email confirmation came in and…

      Seller
      Fishpond.com.au
      [email protected]

Yeah. So apparently Fishpond now sells on 'unlisted' eBay accounts now, which somehow makes it even sleazier. The 'simplybestprices-10to20dayshippingsimplybestprices-10to20dayshipping' eBay store page does not list any Fishpond affiliation either.

Dangit never any hobby suppliers. Help me feed my miniatures habit ebay damn you.

No good guys! I got so excited because they are always included and I wanted to buy the netgear arlo cameras this week…

  • any Apple product?

  • The masters link opens my podcast app, other links are fine.

  • +1

Really wish The Good Guys were included

    • +2

I received an email from Ebay entitled "20% off Home & Garden at selected retailers" and in the body of the email it says:

"…shop Target, Adairs, Masters, Peters Of Kensington, The Good Guys & more!"

Tried using the code on an item at Good Guys and it just came back with an error about technical difficulties in applying the code.

I think Ebay have had so many selective discounts, they no longer know which ones are actually included, but it's very misleading.

It's the retailers that need to be providing the discount, not Ebay, as it's just subsidising and propping up their high prices.

  • Fallout 4 is showing as $88 (PS4/XB1) on Big W's ebay site.

But then their catalogue is showing $69.
    https://www.bigw.com.au/bigw-catalogues#view=catalogue2&sale…

And their online site is $88 https://www.bigw.com.au/search/?text=fallout

    inconsistent!

    • +2

Big w's online games stores (both normal site and ebay) are run by a different company. They charge different prices, also get free shipping. (Not that it can't be had cheaper elsewhere).

      • Do you anyone know if bigw online store send out PS4/Xbox One games shrink wrapped?
I know that target online does. Never bought from big w online store yet.

        Thanks

  • +3

Is there a way to search all the stores again? Keen to get a cheap microwave (Target has one for $50 pre-discount but seems kind of crappy)

  • I'm not sure if anyone wants to buy an Xbox 360 anymore but seems OK for $76 delivered: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Microsoft-Xbox-360-Slim-4GB-Conso… (note that it's the slim with only 4GB i.e. non-existent hard drive)

  • Anyone looking for a dishwasher and happen to find a cheap price from these websites listed and want to share their knowledge with me?!?!

  • Is there any one search for all of them?

    • +1

Follow the link provided by OP (in the square box or "go to deal") > Search the sale (search box in middle of page).

Note: make sure you go back to that page if you're changing the search query as it will search ebay wide otherwise.

      • Thanks, didn't realize the link in the picture already to the 20% off search.

  • There's a pair of pants on the Catch.com.au site that are in stock there, but not in stock on the ebay site :( TA, does the ebay store use different stock or something?

  • I can't think of anything that I need to buy, but sure enough I'll think of something the day after the promotion ends.

  • Torpedo 7 bikes about 20% cheaper on their website.. Hmmm

  • Any good deals on Home Theaters?

  • Thanks OP, got Guitar Hero Live for PS4 for $95.20 as well as the 3.5% from Cashrewards.
Oh, and free delivery as well :) .

  • Looks like no mobile phone

Thoughts on the LG 65UG870T 65" Curved UHD TV for $2,363 (after CR)? Its refurbished from Gray's Online/Online Only but heaps cheaper than most 200hz 65" UHD Tv's. Also has a 12 month warranty…
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121739969235?_trksid=p2060353.m14…

    • +1

got myself a LG - 65UF850T non curved from grays (refurbished ).. it ended up being 100% NEW lol the Delivery guy came late though at 6pm .. longest wait at home ever!!!

I guess sometimes you win the jackpot.. Still works great and is the best TV i've ever seen and used.. got it for around the same price! 2300ish on special.

Love the passive 3D $1 cinema glasses work fine.. and the 4k is nice but needed to download the LG 4k demo's from the net and put them on a USB stick..

LG have the best USB movie browsing software around hands down.

PS: grays tends to be a little dodgy with refurbished items but sticking to "newer" tech (released mid 2015) like the TV you listed is a good work around to make sure your not getting a 2 year old lemon that was repaired.

    • What CR are you referring to? EDIT: Oh… you mean Cashrewards… not cash back. Understood

    • Great price. I may just get one.

Such a shame no bargain on Nutri Ninja Pro :(

Looks like Anaconda took all their items off ebay? 0 results in Camping/Hiking, and Fishing

    • +1

yeah I can't see anything at all. seems a bit dodgy.

    • Yeah, noticed that with the balance bike I was looking at this morning. So dodge.

    • Yup - I noticed a few things I was considering at BCF have gone too, should've been quicker!

    • +6

Anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun

  • No deals on phones - I am disappoint :(

  • Had some stuff in my cart from Mr Toys (Lego) - left it an hour while I did some stuff and just noticed the postage has gone up on all of them. eBay really should stop these retailers jacking up prices everytime they have 20% sale

    • It's not in their best interest really, they charge fees on the sale price. Jack up = more fees for them.

      • Good point - I never looked it at that way before, that would also help cover the discount I guess

  • Hi Guys,

Can you suggest any decent brand drill from the current sale ( either supercheap or Masters) or if anyone has bought one?

    • Budget? I'm guessing it's just for using odd jobs?

Edit: Just had a look at what's on sale. None of your major brands are there (Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, etc.) Most of masters own range of power tools are decent for their price. I would advise at getting an 18V if you're considering drilling through hard wood or anything of considerable girth. If you're just putting together flatpacks, a smaller drill will be fine. If getting battery operated, make sure it comes with a charger.

      • Thanks JD. Yes, it is for getting some jobs done when moving to the new house like curtains, projector, screen, TV, etc.
I will look for 18V ones from Master, but as you suspected I could not find big brands.
        Smaller 18V drill ?

Can someone explain why some stores remove most of their items whenever eBay has this promo deal with their store and advertises it? It's happened in the past. Wouldn't it be in their best interest to allow people to actually buy their products?

    • Curious as well.

    • My only guess is that they don't have any kind of inventory management system hooked in with eBay sales, so they're concerned that the discount will flood their system with orders that they can't fulfil.

Especially so for franchises, where the franchisees normally cop the brunt of customer support, when they themselves receive very little profit from it, other than having their stock depleted.

Better to deal with the OzBargain shitstorm-in-a-teacup than the nightmare of having people rock up and rant and rave about actual orders.

      • +1

Don't any of these stores organize this in advance? I mean they remove the items DURING the promotion. You would think they would be a little more prepared when eBay is doing a nationwide promotion advertising their store and make sure they have plenty of stock beforehand. If they don't have stock, they shouldn't be a part of it.
