Cheaper price because it's a last minute deal - only 6 days till departure.
Below is the same cruise departing 23 Jan, with Inside Quad at $1159 pp … almost double this ($665 pp) price.

Season plays a part as well though. January is a peak season, over holidays, and has better weather so prices will be higher then November, which is off-peak and not quite as good weather.
That said, this is still a good deal.

TO take advantage of these you need to be lightening fast. Things like children sharing a cabin needs to be researched before hand. If you have 2 adults, it may be worth working out now to be ready for the next deal, eg, can 1 adult share with 1 child and then work it out on board.
Also, your options to get SYD to MEL will be up to you to work out.

Highly unlikely because that is a very popular time for cruises. These ones are only cheap because it's not school/uni holidays so no one can really go on them except oldies.
spot on @nexus4 … the school holiday window is the peak period. Soon as you get out of this period though when kids go back to school (i.e. end of Jan/start of Feb) prices and availability get better pretty quickly.

Unfortunately not @MelUser … I would not be prepared to put strangers in a Quad cabin together. (there are obvious safety factors which would prevent us from doing that).

If you are single you pay for your invisible bed mate. Some ships have single rooms, very few, expensive usually and like hens teeth to actually book.

no … you must pay for 4 people to secure a Quad cabin.

Interior cabins (such as the one advertised in this post) get an additional $100 OBC (per cabin).
Balcony and Suite cabins get an additional $250 OBC.
