Massive Gazebo Metal with Collapsible Awning for $150 @ Masters

70

Saw this at Masters, Braybrook (VIC) store with plenty of stock. Massive size with collapsible awning. It seems good quality with close look. Other store was also seen to have this in stock, so might be national wide. I wish I have a house with such a big backyard to have this thing…

You might need council approval for installation, so double check before purchase.

Update 17/11: Currently $150 down from initial deal price of $199. Thanks crumbo85

  • Pretty sure I saw this over the weekend @ Masters in South Morang so may even be Aus wide.

  • wouldnt you need council approval to install that?

    • Would like to know that also. I live in Brisbane and can I thought pergola requires council approval but not sure about gazebo.

    • Only if the neighbours complain :)
It looks a lot like a temporary structure. Bolts to the slab?
Its small enough to not need approval in my council area, provided setbacks etc are followed.

Anymore goodie at a good price in Masters, i think they are in clearance now.

Isn't there also still a 10% off code valid at the moment ?

  • They seem to be really good quality. Had a look at this one yesterday

  • isnt this portable/movable?? why would you need approval?

great price though. I;m really trying to think of a reason to get one but think I will pass

    • Looks like a 'bolt to floor' arrangement so would need approval …

  • Look like something sort of suitable to put over an easement that you could remove if required

    • Probably want to mount it to some concrete. You don't want one of these flying around in the wind.

      • Would mounting to pavers work?

        • 2000kg pavers sure

        • @thackleberry: ok that sounds like a no go then =(

        • @marquise:

Sorry now I feel bad - was kinda being sarcastic.

The power of wind on these is amazing - you could bolt to big cement pavers then have pot plants or something on them with bricks in them - something to weigh it down significantly.

But still cement would be the safest bet.

        • @thackleberry: I reckon that weight of steel with that canopy wouldn't be shifted by any thing short of a gale and the cheap looking canopy would likely tear first.

        • @thackleberry: Nah you made a fair point, maybe I'll just stick to a big umbrella lol. Cheers.

  • does anyone know the the size of it (in the form of cm/m instead of adjectives)

    • it says 3m x 3m on the price poster

    • +1

      Rang the local Masters - 3m x 3m and then 3m x 5.4m with the awning up.
Also, was told the awning acts as a side wall when down (don't have to remove it when not in use)

  • so are these available at all Masters? had a look online, couldn't see one

    • I can't find it online either but seems to be happening at more then one Masters (can't say if it's all of them).
Also, spoke to a team member who said they had one out in the Garden Center and thought it was pretty sturdy in the wind

  • Anyone from WA confirm they've seen this special in store?

    • They have them at Joondalup.

  • Don't know if I would rate these in high wind. Mother had similar one of same design and looks like same gauge metal… It went ok for a few years but the metal stretchers buckled after a decent storm and had to be bent back straight and reinforced. Canopy material was average at best.

How much was that fire pit next to one of the gazebo legs in the picture?

  • I can't speak for other states, but they're fine for install in Vic without a permit (Most councils that I know of). A fixed roofed pergola over 10m2 needs a permit (and 20m2 no roof). These are only 9m2 (awnings don't count).

  • It looks like this products is now available online. I wouldn't use the TRUCK delivery option at $85 but it is also available for Click and Collect. Its probably not available for Postal because it is a large item.

  • I've thought long and hard about this product, but I just can't see the sense in a fold up awning in what would probably be placed at the front for most people? Maybe if it was retractable! Definitely seems like good value though… Just not sure about the practicality of it for me.

  • It's not massive!
