Anybody know if the friend's SIM comes preactivated? I'm thinking of giving a non-member friend $5 to buy one for me (and I get a voucher code to use later) but I don't want to start using the SIM immediately.

Actually no, your friend gets a SIM. When Amaysim detects your code has been used, you get another code in email which gives you the discount.

Actually my friend reports that his SIM is unactivated from checking his account. I've seen somewhere on the website that there's a timeout of 10 days. He'll tell me what happens next.
I've redeemed my code so I can't verify your 15 day figure but your 30 day expiry seems to be correct, looking at my account. I'll be using it before then.

I used the code they sent me and bought a new SIM under the same name, thought it would be more convenient and it won't be any different to amaysim. Yet I was told by online chat they won't send the second promo code to because I should have invited a true friend not myself. Anyone tried to used codes themselves before?
Update: I wrote an email to customers service team explaining my situation, this morning I got the promo code right before my plan was going to renew. Great experience.
Don't know if the code would have been sent anyway just delayed for a day or the email worked because they didn't reply my email at all.
Update again: just got the email reply from their customer service.
It seems they didn't do anything manually to send the second promo code. So I guess it's okay to refer yourself anyway.
Please note, we've cleaned up the wiki. Just put your PM link in there along with your username. As these are one time use codes, it becomes too problematic if 2 people try to use the same code.
There were some entries adding referral links which linked to the referral link promo. For those links, use our automated referral system which can be found in My Account.
