        Store in title

        I'm trying out shorthand

        • Why say lot words when few words do trick.

        • You just blew your budget.

      • +3

        Shocking deal?

  • +1

The Race Day Deals are a very short curcuit indeed.

      No Disassemble Stephanie!

      • +1

        Nice software?

  • What do these normally cost?

    • $41.46 for the 12 outlet at Bunnings online.

    • From memory, the twin-pack (4 outlet) was $19.95.

  • +4

On a Serious note all power boards these days Should come Standard with USB ports.

    • +3

Good luck getting a 10w a port USB powerboard for $3.33

      • +2

And where in my post did i say i expected it for that price?

Id happily pay more than 3 measly dollars on a decent one with USB ports.

    • +2

These days, individual switchable sockets should be included.

      • Never needed/wanted one, in 3 decades. Can't see what I'm missing.

        • +4

Thats true, you can't see the lost power from all those plugpacks left connected. But if you switch off stuff when it isn't needed it does cut your bill, and most electronics will then last longer as it is zapped less often by surges.

Individual switches also help with power cycling locked up gear.

        • +1

          @airborn:
Yep, they're quite handy for power cycling devices on test, to stop charging your phone after its full without having to plug/unplug the whole thing, plus you can avoid the arcing when you plug things in.

        • @airborn: Thanks for the info. All my boards are surge protected, already. For me, switches… Nothing unplugging can't fix. I can see some would want switches, but 'vampire usage' is tiny in my scenarios. Bit of a minimalist. I have what I need & use.

Did anyone else read the title as Selected Hoverboards on Sale or just me?

    • +2

      You and Marty Mcfly.

  • damn these are cheap.

  • +1

I think I have about 2 powerboards for every wall socket in the house. I can probably daisy chain them to the nearest substation.

  • +3

Bought and then found this: http://www.kmart.com.au/product/surge-protected-6-outlet-pow…

May be they have the same quality :p

EDIT: Ah, my bad. The DS one is in white color but the Kmart one is in black. They are totally different!

    • +1

Yeah, the black would totally not fit into my home decor :P plus it's 67 cents cheaper at Dick Smith - that's like, a chuppa-chup and then some

      • +1

        OzBargain level over 9000!

      • It actually says Color: white despite the picture.

    • +1

The Kmart write-up says "Colour: White". The Kmart one (Arlec) also has "surge protection", whereas the DS one (HPM) only has overload protection.

As you said, they are totally different. :P

      • +3

Yes, Damn cheap for Surge protected 6 outlet, much better deal than the $3.33 HPM . This should be listed separately.

    • +4

The Kmart's one has 3 wide-spaced outlets, which is more convenient.

    • My local kmart scanned these at $8 each.

      • +1

They've stuffed up and used the wrong image in their online catalog. There are $4 arlec 6 socket powerboards but they don't have surge protection or extra spacing. These are the ones that are white.

Managed to get some of the $8 ones for $4 anyway after disucssion with the manager.

Bought 4! Awesome deal. Thanks :)

    • Pitty you didnt wait for the kmart comments above.

      • Yeah, I like black, fits my ninja profiile. But not all that bad, I saved $2.68 in total and get to keep my OzBargain card!

Good for turning your 3 bed house to a 58 bedder

    http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/city-east/former-…

Why would you buy HPM when you pay a bit more for https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/surge-protected-power…

    • -1

Funny people can't tell it was a joke?

  • Placed an order with Click and Collect.

Paid with Paypal and was sent to DS Place Order page.

Checked "Agree…" button, then "Place Order".

Got a red warning "Please specify a shipping method".

Went to "Edit your cart" to see that "Click and Collect" was correctly checked.

Madness as usual with this mob. Can't get past the shipping warning.

  • Sold out?

  • Yes all sold out unfortunately .. missed out :/

  • All showing "Temporarily out of stock".

  • thanks OP, bought one. This DS one comes with angled plug, perfect to hide behind tall furnitures
