  • good prices, i might actaully go

Late February to the end of March, Hong Kong starts becoming warmer and humidity begins to rise as the rainy season draws near. Generally speaking, this is a good time to visit as the temperatures are usually cool, not cold and the chances for rain remain low. April to June are the wettest and most humid months.

not a deal for Perth to Hong Kong at all. Cathay Pacific currently offers $6xx (taxes inclusive) for direct flights for PER/HKG/PER. The offer here is on Jetstar, stopping over at Singapore.

      Hi Vkkcheung,

Sorry, I meant to label that the Perth prices were not a deal & only included for completeness. I have updated the OP.

  • Tempting, but I have just booked another Cathay (CX) return airfare ADL-HKG return in business class for next Feb. Cost me 130,000 points and $158.

    • Was that through Qantas' or Cathay's FF program?

      • Qantas

I have quite a lot points at QFF and Asia Miles. You can use either to book CX flight. Points required is quite a huge difference. Asia Miles costs 80000 (may be 85000, cant recall at the moment) for business class return PER/HKG . QFF for exact flights cost 130000. AMEX rewards conversion rates to both QFF and Asia Miles are same at ratio of 1 to 1. Since i have stopped converting my points to QFF if option is available.

        • Fair point. On my credit card, AMEX points are still earned at a lower rate for me than QF outright. But should look into this…
I'd assume the taxes when booking through CX are still low.

Don't forget Amex cashback for those who have it (targeted offer, so no link here on OzB)

    • what's this cashback?

      • There are two:

        1. $50 cashback on $250 spend
        2. 20% off 3 transactions (max. $200)

They're both in the same category as these:

… except that because only certain people are getting them the mods marked the deal as targeted offer. However it is being discussed in the comments.

        • is the cash back available for booking via iwantthatflight? or only directly via official website?

        • @vkkcheung:
Ah oops, only via Qantas. Didn't pay attention to the OP :-P
Maybe you can find equiv. fare on Qantas website? (One can wish)

  • struggling to find these prices! e.g. wanting to fly 15 or 16/1/16 - 31/1/16; no dice ..
