    avoid current onkyo stuff. Known problems with the HDMI boards and they haven't rectified it. Local disty doesn't want to know anything about it when there is a recall/repair program overseas. The replacement boards are the same faulty product iirc

    Stick to a denon, yamaha or marantz or something

      This is dead true. I've been affected. There are many forum threads on it.

      In fact, it's been true for at least 7 years now. You're screwed if you buy Onkyo.

  2070Si.. was researching recently. Has a nasty issue of entering fault mode (means you can't use it) and it's unfixable by the end user.

  The manufacturer tried to water down the failure rate by talking about the failure rate "of the whole series" (meaning subwoofer + fronts + rears + centre), but there are a number of people out there on their 4th one.

  Was ready to pounce but so bummed. Thought about the 3070 but will wait and see if it develops the same issues. Plus it's uglier (I want the white one).

  BUT.. Great to have a storewide coupon. Definately a +ve from me.
